Holiday Gift Guide for Kids

Santa has an impossible job, finding the perfect gift for every child is no easy feat. Though Santa gets full credit for the win on Christmas morn, let’s be honest, it is the elves that do all the hard work. The Jax Moms Blog elves are at your service this holiday season and below is a list of our favorite gifts because after all we get it. The last thing you want is another toy collecting dust on the shelf!

What is more magical than a floating fairy in the palm of your hands? This battery operated fairy literally hovers above your palm and is all the rage among first grade girls. They come in a few different colors and are currently on sale at Target for $27.99 and are recommended for ages 5 and up.

Magna Tiles Deluxe Set

Looking for a gift that will be loved for years to come, try a Magna Tiles Deluxe Set and even though it’s a bit more pricey, apparently the deluxe set is the best option. One contributor elf swears that her seven-year-old plays with these as much as her two-year-old. This creative toy allows kids to construct whatever they can imagine, it’s the kind of toy that buys you a few extra minutes to get that task around the house down knowing your kids are getting in some quality play-learning. It’s also a great activity for the entire family!

Kickboard USA Scooters

This is the second year the Mini Micro and Maxi Scooters have made the JMB Gift Guide list for a reason. They are so easy to ride, my two-year-old was scooting with ease after a quick ten minute lesson. JMB, especially the fitness contributors, love the idea of something that keeps our kids active. These things will be around for years to come, their parts grow with your child.

Flipeez

Last year it was the Dream Light and this year it’s a Flipeez. Kids are suckers for infommercials but lucky for parents, Flipeez makes a decent gift. This is a whimsical hat that kids will love wearing. Though it doesn’t happen often, this comfy hat will help keep their ears and head warm when it drops below 60 and our beach babies teeth are chattering. Whether your kiddos is into kitten or raccoons, Flipeez offers something for all your little rascals.

GoldiBlox

This trendy building set created a lot of buzz with its genius commerical set to the Beastie Boys “Girls” tune where three girls put their pink girly toys to better use by creating an amazing domino effect througout their home displaying their engineering skills and ingeniuity. If you can get over the fact that these toys come in pink and purple themselves, Goldiblox is a toy full of merit and spatial skills that lives up to the hype. Goldiblox was developed by females engineers to inspire the future generation of female engineers!

Another great toy geared for girls is the Deluxe Roominate by Imagine Toys. Let’s face it, girls love to build too! Roominate allows girls to build fun houses and other spaces while teaching them science, math and engineering skills! Roominate was imagined and designed by two female engineers with backgrounds from Cal Tech, MIT and Stanford. Their goal is to inspire and encourage the next generation of female technology innovators.
