Parents are proud of their children, sure; but have you also thought about why schools offer gifted programs? Schools offer gifted programs in the United States because our government recognizes that we need to identify and develop our gifted and talented students so that they can grow up and help America compete in the global marketplace. We need gifted students and we need to help them achieve!
Why Test for Gifted?
The most common reason given for why parents test their children for giftedness is because they want their children to be placed in the gifted program at their local public school. It is smart to want to provide the best academic environment for your child. Parents want to help their children develop their interests, gifts, and talents.
You don’t have to stay on a waiting list. Dr. Garamoni specializes in performing Gifted IQ Assessments. He will discuss the pros and cons of testing with you, and, once the test results are completed, he will give you an interpretation of the results that helps you understand more about your child’s intellectual abilities than what is represented by a single IQ score.
We offer individual and family therapy for youth and young adults, ages 3 to 24 years. In therapy, we can help with a variety of issues, ranging from coping with medical conditions to dealing with difficult emotions to parenting challenges.
We offer various assessment services to evaluate emotional/behavioral concerns, gifted eligibility, ADHD, learning disabilities (including reading disorder) and infant/toddler development.
We offer short-term educational groups for caregivers and/or youth to work on numerous skills, including helping parents manage their children’s problem behaviors and helping youth cope with stress.
