We are empowering kids to think beyond the constraints of “the box,” encouraging them to become future leaders and innovators. Our classes and camps engage, while inspiring kids to think creatively and independently. Every kid should envision his or her future in STEM career opportunities. Our goal is to inspire creativity that carries outside of the workshop, into everyday lives of each “Kid Coder.” Kids Can Code motivates kids to pursue their own path in creating and innovating.

The Kids Workshops are FREE how-to clinics for children. The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.

Introducing students to the fun of science through hands-on interactive experiments, adventures, and entertainment. We develop curriculum allowing students to experience how science works in the real world — presenting programs in a nurturing, encouraging environment where students build self-esteem while learning.

As a children’s science enrichment company, Club Scientific’s purpose is to get young people excited about science and provide a setting that allows them to explore and experiment with fascinating facts, projects and activities. In doing so, we are helping children develop the scientific literacy essential for life as effective, productive citizens of the 21st century. We believe that every child is a scientist!

The Green Team Project (GTP) is a grassroots environmental non-profit project of the Tides Center whose focus is to empower and motivate people to make a difference environmentally through their own practices.

We are dedicated to changing long-term consumption behavior, increasing environmental awareness and stewardship, creating a greater sense of community, improving the quality of life, and having fun.

Green Team Project has educational programs for every member of the community. Through Green Teams, individuals, businesses, schools, and other organizations turn good intentions into concrete positive environmental action. The average graduate of a Green Team saves between 10-30% in each of the five resource areas: water, energy, solid waste, chemicals, and transportation, as well as a fair amount of money.

By using the team process our participants have the support and motivation they need to follow through on conservation actions, learn new things, and adopt long-lasting environmental habits.

The STEAM Cultural Passport is a Duval County program that provides students in Title I elementary schools with three to four educational field trips per year. These field trip experiences are connected to programs and offerings in Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics. Organizations are selected through an application process, and events are scheduled according to available services to schools. The program is currently funded through federal dollars and provides cultural experiences to students, most of whom would not otherwise receive these kinds of opportunities.

During each trip, the students will board a St. Johns River Taxi boat from Friendship Fountain Park for a 2-hour tour of the river. While on board, they will rotate through a series of educational activities that correlate to state standards and focus on river science.

Students will learn to use water quality monitoring equipment, gather and interpret water quality data, record observational data on manatees and dolphins in the St. Johns River, examine river plants and animals for adaptations that enable them to thrive in the river ecosystem, and use their water quality data and what they learn on the trips to make predictions about the future of the St. Johns River.

Our Aviation Focused STEM Education Program is designed for middle school and high school students ages 11-18 (grades 6-12) who have expressed an interest in aviation and other STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) related topics. To be successful and have fun in this course, your child should be currently enrolled in a public, charter or private school, or otherwise engaged in a homeschool curriculum, and doing well academically. The course is designed for students who have demonstrated an aptitude for independent learning and above-average social and intellectual maturity for their grade level.

Students who successfully complete the course will have the opportunity to learn valuable life skills that align with those of a competent and safety conscious pilot:

  • Personal Responsibility (Pilot In Command Authority)
  • Logic and Reasoning (Aeronautical Decision Making)
  • Resource Management and Teamwork (Single Pilot Resource Management)
  • Discipline and Attention To Detail (Checklist Usage)
  • Self Confidence (First Solo Flight, Practical Test)
  • Respect (For Others and For The Airplane)

Our custom designed curriculum will utilize free, industry accepted materials. Students will work on projects as a team and learn valuable reasoning, problem solving and decision making skills that can be applied to anything they do in life – especially if they decide to become a pilot! All activities are ground based and will be conducted at our facility, in our classroom or aircraft hangar, but parents will have the option of purchasing flight lessons for their children to enhance what they learn during the course.
