The Buddy Sherwood School of Dance has been providing dance training to students in Jacksonville, Florida for more than 60 years. Our studio is family owned and operated and is currently lead by Buddy Sherwood’s daughter, Luann Fair, and her daughter, Allie Fair.

Dance services including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and more are available to students ranging from three years of age to young adults for both recreational and competitive dancers. Dance instruction for all ages including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, musical theater and modern dance utilizing the integration of the Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS) and other cross training methodologies into classical technical curriculum.

Alius Dance School aims to provide a solid foundation for a pre-professional dancer. The foundation will be based in the integration of new research in dance cross training techniques and classical styles of ballet to develop a dancer who is capable of sustaining a long, artistic career.

Preschool:  Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics. These classes are available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 2:45-3:45 p.m. (Please note on the contract if you prefer a certain day.)     

Kindergarten:  Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics. 

First through 4th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acrobatics.  Remember, each class is separate with their own recital dance and costume.  For example; if your child takes all 4 disciplines they will have 4 costumes.  First grade does not have a recital dance for acrobatics therefore would not have a costume for that class. 

Fifth through 12th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Acrobatics. Pointe class must be with approval.  Ballet and Pointe are two separate classes.  You must take Ballet in order to take Pointe.  There is however one costume for the two classes.  The recital dance is learned during the Ballet Technique class when both Pointe and Ballet students are present.

Early Child Development Infants – VPK, Camps: At The Learning Experience (TLE), we believe that children deserve to grow and learn at their own pace. Open Ballet Class: This is an additional dance class available for those students already enrolled in ballet. This is a class focused on ballet technique, stretching, and conditioning. It will be taught on an advanced level. It is open to anyone currently in Junior, Advanced 1 or Advanced 2 classes.

Extra Classes: If you wish to take additional classes please indicate on your registration form by putting the number of classes next to each discipline. (For example; Ballet – 2.) Any serious student should be taking a minimum of 2 Ballet classes per week beginning in 5th grade. Younger students may also take additional classes with approval.

Student Assistants: Students 7th grade and older are eligible to assist with classes. A tuition discount will be offered for assisting. You must assist for the entire year in order to receive a discount. Priority is given to older dancers. Please note on your registration the day and times you are available

Classes are leveled as students mature. Please respect your teacher’s placement. If changes need to be made, they will be adjusted after classes begin. We realize students dancing in summer programs may need to be re-evaluated in the Fall

Little Dancing Stars, your mobile dance company started in 2001. We offer children 3 to 6 years of age basic beginning Ballet and Tap instruction. We focus on poise, concentration, memory and balance… while having fun! Classes are held at your child’s preschool, so there is no commuting to a studio after work or on weekends. Your child can participate in a dance recital at the end of the dance season. Classes start the first week of September and run through end of May, with the dance recital being held usually the first Saturday of June.

Classes are held once a week at your child’s preschool consisting of both Ballet and Tap for only $48.00 a month!

Bittersweet Studios is the first co-ed alternative aerial arts fitness studio in Jacksonville that serves clients of all ages and sizes. We offer a range of fitness options in strength training, cardio, dance and specialized instruction in aerial arts. Our aerial arts programs consist of pole fitness, aerial silks, aerial hammock yoga, lyra/hoop, acrobatics and bungee fitness. Virtual courses are six weeks long and are offered on a quarterly basis. In-person courses are year-long and offered at schools and community centers throughout Duval County. Here are a few things to note:

• Virtual courses are available to any student, no matter what school they attend! In-person courses are available only to students already enrolled at that school or site.
• Capacity for all courses is limited to ensure quality instruction and maximize time with teaching artists and classmates.
• CAP provides free supplies for virtual courses to students in Duval County, which will be available for pick-up. Supplies for in-person courses are also provided for free.
