The mission of The Jericho School (non profit 501(c) 3 corporation) is to provide comprehensive, individualized science-based education not otherwise available in our community. We believe those children with autism and other developmental delays deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. The school’s curriculum provides effective treatment and education programs to children and their families based on Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior.
The Community Outreach Program allows The Jericho School to provide parents and other community members access to training and education training free of charge. The program increases parents’ and service providers’ knowledge, skills and abilities for working with children with autism; teaching specific skills, reducing inappropriate behaviors and developing language skills.
The Program includes a free 2-Day Workshop to provide parents and caregivers training in the best practices in working with children with autism. Education is provided on the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and how to use Verbal Behavior in Teaching Language to Children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.
A free consultation and assessment is also provided for the parents participating in the Community Outreach Program to provide more individualized guidance and assistance in selecting appropriate goals for their child’s educational program.
Little Star Center is a private, non-profit school providing comprehensive, affordable, individual education and behavioral services for all who struggle with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental delays.
We place a strong emphasis on academics, behavior, and communication. These skills are taught using Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior. Private Full Time Islamic School. Al-Furqan Academy was established in August of 1997 by some of the same founding members of ICNEF (Islamic Center of Northeast Florida). They saw the immense need for an Islamic Elementary School in the city of Jacksonville, and they acted upon it. First, written plans were formulated, classrooms were established within the Masjid, staff was recruited and numerous other plans and procedures developed. The result is that today, we are a school of approximately 60 students ranging in ages from 3 years up to the fifth grade. We have a new playground built according to federal safety guidelines as well as a library with three new, networked computers for our student’s use. Wolfson Children’s Rehabilitation provides comprehensive, family-centered services to children from infancy through adolescence who have neurological or musculo-skeletal impairments due to injury, illness or congenital developmental conditions.
The overall goal of our service is to help children function to their full potential in their everyday life activities. Marianne, a pediatric nurse practitioner, and Becky, an occupational therapist, both with extensive horse experience, founded Hope Therapy in 2001. Their commitment to high-quality services and excellent programs led Hope Therapy to become the only Premier Accredited Center in Northeast Florida by meeting the high standards set by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.). Throughout the years, they have maintained this accreditation by continuing to meet the standards and passing on-site inspections.
Nestled in Middleburg, FL, the farm is a serene 12-acre property with a wheelchair accessible mounting ramp, outdoor riding arena, and sensory trail for our clients. In our riding arena, you will find colorful cones, a basketball hoop, letters, and a ring-toss game. The sensory trail has ground poles, barrels, and many hidden surprises, waiting to be found by our clients. To best set our clients up for success, we have adaptive equipment, such as loop ladder reins and activity boards. We also have picnic tables and Adirondack chairs for our client’s families to enjoy as they watch their family member’s sessions. Sessions are individualized and typically one on one with our occupational therapist, physical therapist, or therapeutic riding instructor.

Hello! My name is Kevin and I am a speech-language pathologist specializing in pediatrics (0 to 22 year olds). I have worked in Duval County Schools for 2 years and before that, I worked for 3 years doing outpatient pediatric rehab at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. I have familiarity with speech (articulation), fluency (stuttering), apraxia, language disorders, dyslexia, phonological disorders, reading, AAC (augmentative or alternative communication) devices, social skills, independent living behavior and language, cleft palate, Autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, low cognition, Down Syndrome, and some feeding and behavioral experience. I strive to learn from and creatively tailor my treatments to each child and family (every kid is different!).
I am available during after school hours 3-6, Monday-Thursday.

Our school is unique from the public school settings, as we are able to focus on the specific needs of each individual child, whether academic, life skills, or behavioral. We are also unique in that we offer year-round school and extremely low student to teacher ratio (largest class 6:2), both of which are proven methods to help our children work toward their highest level of learning.
At Growing Together we believe that all students affected by autism and other developmental disabilities can reach their fullest potential through an education based in structure, fun engagement with peers, and loving teachers and staff supporting and encouraging them daily. Each child’s individual strengths and challenges are continually assessed to direct the child’s teachers in selecting the best methodologies to target the child’s current needs. Founder, Martin Freeman, is a former law enforcement officer and is a father of 5. He recalls hearing the concerns of many coworkers, friends, and associates regarding the lack of childcare during their demanding unconventional work schedules. A probationary officer, who at the time had recently graduated from the Academy was placed on the midnight shift. She couldn’t find adequate childcare for her hours of work and also suffered from postpartum depression to the point that she attempted suicide. Fletcher’s Tender Care, LLC is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Facility (PPEC) also known as a medical daycare. There are so many families located in the Jacksonville area that have medically fragile children and are not aware of these services. We hire experienced nurses and certified nursing assistants to care for our special needs children while the parents work. We are open from 7a to 6pm, Monday through Friday – children must have Medicaid in order to qualify, we offer transportation to and from the centers, therapies ST, PT, and OT, and music therapy.
