The mission of The Jericho School (non profit 501(c) 3 corporation) is to provide comprehensive, individualized science-based education not otherwise available in our community. We believe those children with autism and other developmental delays deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. The school’s curriculum provides effective treatment and education programs to children and their families based on Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior.

The Community Outreach Program allows The Jericho School to provide parents and other community members access to training and education training free of charge. The program increases parents’ and service providers’ knowledge, skills and abilities for working with children with autism; teaching specific skills, reducing inappropriate behaviors and developing language skills.

The Program includes a free 2-Day Workshop to provide parents and caregivers training in the best practices in working with children with autism. Education is provided on the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and how to use Verbal Behavior in Teaching Language to Children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.

A free consultation and assessment is also provided for the parents participating in the Community Outreach Program to provide more individualized guidance and assistance in selecting appropriate goals for their child’s educational program.

Since opening our doors back in August of 2005, JSA has been developed by the joint efforts of a diverse group of families and professionals who are able to network with one another to develop programs that directly support our children’s unique learning needs. JSA operates under an “Integrative Model” and is open to any student on the autism spectrum, ages 3-18 years. JSA has a variety of classrooms to meet the needs of individual students. These varied programs allow for the successful development of students and ensures a comfortable transition from our new learners to advanced learners.

Our mission at JSA is to provide every child with a positive learning experience in a safe and comfortable environment. All of our programs emphasize whole child development (behavioral, academic, social, and physical growth). While our goals and programs may be very different for our individual students, our solidarity remains strong in our resolve as “parents and teachers in partnership” to help all our children and students reach their potential.

Where Children Become the Greatest Version of Themselves

Growing Together Behavioral Center is one of Jacksonville’s premier schools for children with autism and developmental disabilities. We pride ourselves on being a school where each child is treated as an individual, and educational plans are tailored to their personal needs.

For the 2018-2019 school year, we are excited to partner with 25 students with autism and other developmental disabilities, ages 3 through 15 years. For each child, we will offer a comprehensive educational and therapeutic program, specifically providing students with customized academic plans, while integrating proven, research-based behavioral strategies into every learning task. Our school is unique from the public school settings, as we are able to focus on the specific needs of each individual child, whether academic, life skills, or behavioral. We are also unique in that we offer year-round school and extremely low student to teacher ratio (largest class 6:2), both of which are proven methods to help our children work toward their highest level of learning.

At Growing Together we believe that all students affected by autism and other developmental disabilities can reach their fullest potential through an education based in structure, fun engagement with peers, and loving teachers and staff supporting and encouraging them daily. Each child’s individual strengths and challenges are continually assessed to direct the child’s teachers in selecting the best methodologies to target the child’s current needs. We believe that open communication between teachers, staff, and families is a must, and we have communication plans in place with each family to meet those needs.
