In this comprehensive series, you and your partner/coach will increase your confidence in the birthing process as you gain a better understanding of what to expect. The series includes information on stages and phases of labor, pain management, cesarean birth, postpartum care and normal newborn characteristics.
Expectant parents are encouraged to complete classes between the 32nd-37th weeks so register early, as space is limited.
Please note: Some breathing and relaxation is included in this class but you will not practice on the floor. For couples desiring more practice on breathing and relaxation techniques, we offer a supplemental one night class called Comfort Measures.

Safe Sitter® Class Description
Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice CPR and choking rescue!

The class will teach you the proper way to install your car seat in your car. Upon completion of the class, certified technicians from Safe Kids will be on hand to help you install your seat correctly in your vehicle.

$185 per month – One Subject – Math or Reading
$300 per month – Two Subjects – Math & Reading
Registration Fee: $50.00
Materials Fee: $25.00
Absences:
Per corporate policy, students may be absent for 30 days per calendar year. After 30 days, the student must re-enroll as a new student and the above-referenced fees apply. Also, a new placement test will be administered.

I taught all core area subjects in 3rd-6th Grades for 11 years in Jacksonville Beach before recently transitioning out of the classroom. As a firm believer that every child learns differently, I meet students where they are on academic and emotional levels, make learning visible, and customize learning to make it personal to the child. In addition to my love for education, I am a serious marathon runner who believes in finding balance and passion in all that we do. I am able and willing to offer in-person and/or Zoom afternoon and evening tutoring sessions for students in grades K-8 in the Beaches, Southside, San Marco, Riverside, and Avondale areas.

Nicole Zauke is an Orton Gillingham-trained Community Educator. She has 15 years of experience as an elementary inclusion classroom teacher. She has a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s degree in School Counseling. Nicole holds a Reading and Literacy Specialist graduate certificate. She is a Florida licensed educator for K-6 with Reading and ESOL endorsements and a Florida licensed school counselor for K-12. Nicole also currently works for the University of Florida as a Literacy Matrix Navigator.
