The property at 10244 103rd Street was originally purchased by Duval County on August 19, 1960 from Hercules, Inc. When consolidation occurred in 1968, the 14-acre park became part of the City of Jacksonville’s facilities in the Department of Recreation and Public Affairs. The park consists of a 0.5-mile lighted asphalt Go-Kart track, bleachers, grills, restrooms and parking. The North Florida Kart Club has been active at the site since its early days and has helped in its maintenance and park improvements by its fund-raising efforts. Private Full Time Islamic School. Al-Furqan Academy was established in August of 1997 by some of the same founding members of ICNEF (Islamic Center of Northeast Florida). They saw the immense need for an Islamic Elementary School in the city of Jacksonville, and they acted upon it. AIR FORCE JROTC MAGNET The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps is a magnet program that focuses on leadership education to instill values of citizenship, character, and integrity. Upon completing three years of the Air Force JROTC program, students receive a Certificate of Completion. If cadets elect to enlist in the Armed Forces, the Certificate of Completion from the JROTC program will allow them to enlist as a pay grade E-3 in the Army, Navy, or Air Force, or an E2 pay grade in the Marine Corp.

HEALTH SCIENCES ACADEMY The Health Sciences Academy offers a unique educational experience to students who wish to pursue a career in the health care industry. Upon graduating from Andrew Jackson, students have the entry-level job skills needed to successfully pursue careers in many of the various health-related occupations. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience and rigorous critical thinking skills. This program also enables students to meet high school graduation requirements while earning college credits.

Angelina Danese Park is located in south Jacksonville, at the intersection of Danese Court and St. Augustine Road. The site comprised part of the Philips community that was established in the last half of the 1800’s. Alexander and Angelina Danese, who arrived in America as immigrants from Italy in 1885, had twelve children following their marriage in 1898. The couple established their home on the park property in 1929, and after their deaths the children wanted to honor their parents’ memory. Their son Emanuel Danese, and his wife Mary Margaret, later donated the property to the city in 1973 for use as a passive public park – in honor of his parents and with the stipulation that it be named for his mother. But the site remained a vacant tract until the city, with the aid of City Councilmen Matt Carlucci and Reggie Fullwood, developed the property as a neighborhood park, which opened in March 2003.

The Allison Brundick Haramis Foundation, Angels for Allison, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in memory of 15-year old Allison Haramis, who was tragically killed in an auto accident in April of 2009.  Her family and friends created a legacy of her joyous spirit by aiding with the financial needs of families who are suffering with the loss of a child.

Attia means gift in West Africa and I thought it was so appropriate because she is a gift and blessing in my life. I was born and raised in Belize, CA, and came to the U.S. in 2007 to further my education. I am married to an amazing hubby and I have two children, Bella (4) and Enzo (2). I also work full time for a healthcare organization and teach sprint part-time at the local YMCA. I am a busy bee! For over 50 years, BARBARA THOMPSON SCHOOL OF DANCE, has been an award-winning studio in Jacksonville Florida.  Founded by Barbara Thompson and co-directed with daughters Paige and Amanda, BTSD specializes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, gymnastics, and hip hop.  BTSD offers a diverse range of classes for aspiring and advanced dancers of all ages including: children, teens, and adults.

With over 14 years of experience Dr. Brown has the clinical training to provide you with the highest level of eye care. This includes cataract diagnosis, glaucoma treatment, and emergency eye care such as eye infections, scratched eyes, or removal of a foreign body. She is passionate about contact lenses and plans to continue to provide specialty lenses such as Scleral contact lenses. She will provide orthoptic care to children and adults that have double vision or difficulties with their binocular vision.
