MOSH Summer Discovery Camp goers will get to explore science, history, astronomy, and more with weekly adventures that are sure to tap into a child’s interests. This summer, campers will go on an epic adventure through our new exhibition, Dinosaurs Around the World! They will discover how dinosaurs thrived in their regions and how their diverse characteristics helped them survive. Then, they will use their Dino Discoveries to create a dinosaur! And space camps will feature a trip to Kennedy Space Center. More than 30 camp topics will be offered over nine weeks.

MOSH combines education and entertainment in our annual spring, summer, and winter camps. Each camp encourages student curiosity and exploration as we venture around the Museum. Our highly-trained MOSH Educators utilize the entire Museum to make each camp engaging for children of all ages.

Calling all junior scientists, marine biologists, conservationists, and sea turtle enthusiasts! The GSTC invites campers to enjoy fun-in-the-sun activities, field-based adventures, and unforgettable sea turtles. Each day will focus on turtle biology, conservation, and the threats these animals face. Campers will explore many habitats of Jekyll Island, including sandy beaches and muddy marshes while learning about the myriad of turtle species and wildlife found in coastal Georgia. Campers will interact daily with GSTC staff, volunteers, and AmeriCorps members during this unique week of learning and adventure. Come experience this unique program and learn how you can protect our natural resources, save a species, and make a difference!

For ages 4-14, during weekly sessions over breaks, campers have fun with new friends as they create unique works of art and explore the galleries. Experienced art educators teach a variety of media and skills through creative art-making while providing the contemporary art history context for each project. This year we are excited to announce that we have MOCA Summer Art Camp Scholarships thanks to a generous donation from the Win Gartner Memorial Fund. Scholarships are available for one session per camper only and cover 100% of registration and extended day fees. Low-income families and/or families who have undergone recent financial hardship are eligible, and there is a limit of two scholarships per household (one per camper). Applications must be submitted no later than May 1. Submitting this application does not guarantee your child a session at Summer Art Camp. All submitted information is confidential and will be seen only by the scholarship review committee. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by email no later than May 10. Does your child love to paint, sculpt, draw, print, and more? Cultivate their creative abilities in our summer camp. Young artists will observe and explore the artwork in the galleries and gardens, experiment with different art media in the studio, and create and show-off their artwork in an open house each week.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, the Cummer Museum is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships for the Summer Camp 2020. Scholarships are intended to provide financial assistance to individuals interested in the arts. If awarded, scholarships cover 100% of the registration cost. Campers applying for a scholarship cannot register for Summer Camp in advance. Once contacted regarding their scholarship status, applicants will be directed to register for Summer Camp through an online Registration Form for scholarship recipients.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, applicants must complete a Scholarship Application Form. If the form is not completed, the applicant will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed weekly and applicants will typically hear back within seven days. This is a rolling application and Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those who qualify. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible, as camp fills up quickly. Students entering grades 1 through 6

Please note that the camper’s parent/guardian is expected to provide transportation to and from the Museum each day as well as lunch and a snack each day.
