Healthy Living: Just Add Rhythm | Losco Regional Park
October 10 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
Timucuan Parks Foundation and AARP invite the community to join them for Healthy Living: Fresh Air, Fitness, Friendship and Fun, a series of free monthly walks in parks and preserves on the First Coast. The second walk in the series is Healthy Living: Just Add Rhythm, on Thursday, Oct. 10 at Losco Regional Park, one of Jacksonville’s premier neighborhood parks. Participants should meet at the pavilion next to the play area at 10931 Hood Rd. S. in Mandarin at 9 a.m. The morning will include stretching, a one to two-mile walk on Losco’s natural surface trails through pristine woods, and a stress-reducing and fun drumming session under the spreading oak trees of the park. Drums will be provided, but guests are asked to please bring a folding chair, wear comfortable shoes for the walk, and bring a full reusable water bottle. The event is free and snacks will be provided. Participants are asked to register at timucuanparks.org/healthy-living.
The series is designed to promote healthy living by teaching new ways to get fit and to show the therapeutic effects a walk in the park can provide. Each Healthy Living adventure will begin at 9 a.m. and will last until 12 p.m. For more information on each event, you can contact Felicia Boyd, program and outreach director with Timucuan Parks Foundation, at [email protected] or 904-463-1799.
