Spring Makeup Trends & JMB Nordstrom Beauty Event

I can feel it! The Spring temperatures were here last week and it’s coming back! So guess what? It’s time to ditch the layers of Winter makeup and freshen it up with the colors of Spring.

Some of the classic looks have remained and some of the Fall/Winter looks have carried over (but changed slightly) and we welcome the bright, bold colors with open arms!!

Black gel winged liner.  It’s a classic and not going away. My favorite gel liner is the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel liner. This gel stays in place and doesn’t smudge. It comes in a variety of colors, so why not try a winged liner look with a pop of color!

Flaming Lips. The berry colored lip (MAC Rebel) stayed around from last season.  Instead of wearing a fully lined lip, the look this season is to make it look like a stain.  Sisley also has a perfect lip stain if you don’t want too deep of a color. Apply a little to the lips and smudge around. The other color that is sure to make a POP is a Fire-Orange lip. Tish McVoy has a beautiful Beauty Booster Lip and Cheek color that is perfect for this look. Even better, it’s a 2-in-1.

Shades of brown. Bronze colored eyes are back. Why not use a bronze eyeshadow to make a pretty smokey eye instead of the normal grey and black? This is one of my favorite eye looks. Even girls with brown eyes that may steer clear of a bronzed out eye would look gorgeous with this too. Adjust the brown eyeshadow color depending on your eye color. Green eyed ladies can go with a brown with hints of gold to them (MAC Tempting). Brown eyed ladies should go for a cooler brown that has a purple undertone to it (MAC Sable). This new palette from MAC incorporates all these colors into one place.

Flash of color. It’s everywhere! From orchid colors on eyes and lips to eyeliners in bright colors. This palette with purple hues from MAC is perfect to try! If you think a color is too much for your lips or eyeshadow, try a liner in a bold color. There are so many to choose from, it’s worth having fun.

True Nude and Glowing skin. Nothing looks more delicious that a beautiful, soft complexion and glowing skin. Keep your foundation simple, like the NARS Radiant Tinted moisturizer. Before you apply, mix in NARS Illuminator in Copacabana to give you the gorgeous glow. You’ll also want to keep your skin glowing and fresh during the upcoming hotter months. This pure rosewater face spray from Chantecaille is absolutely divine! It’s made from roses in France, so pure you can make a martini with it, or so they say.

If you want that beach glow, but don’t want to hit the beach, St. Tropez. It’s a great mousse that glides easily on the skin without leaving any streaks.  And last, but not least, we can’t leave out the nails. This Tom Ford nail color in Toasted Sugar is the perfect nude for your nails.  We all need one of these in our life.
