I love a good story. You know the kind — where a girl takes a chance, follows her dream and hits it big. Ali Webb of Alleycakes is the main character of a very sweet story that takes place in Neptune Beach.

In only two and half years, Ali has gone from bringing coworkers treats and creating special birthday or wedding cakes for dear friends to running one of the most highly sought-after bakeries in town! A self-trained baker, she partnered with her sister and a friend who is a culinary expert, and the rest is deliciously decorated history. Every day, Alleycakes’ display cases are filled with Ali’s signature colorful french macaroons, cake pops and cupcakes.  Customers can even peek into the kitchen as creative cakes are being uniquely decorated. Side note: I am here to testify that these sweets are not only beautiful to the eye, but they are also addicting to your tastebuds!

But — Ali’s story is far from over. The newest chapter of her story is this year’s opening of the Meet, Make & Celebrate room. It turns out that Ali loves cake stands as much as she loves baking, and it didn’t take long before she had more cute stands than room to store them. Not to mention, Alleycakes’ popularity was booming. Customers were constantly asking how she made this or decorated that, wondering if she would be willing to teach them. When office space a couple doors down from the bakery became available, she not only had a solution to her storage problem, she had something sweet to offer the community, too. Meet, Make & Celebrate was born and is quickly becoming the place to attend classes or host a birthday party, shower or girls’ night out.

Hands-On Classes & Private Parties

Alleycakes Famous French MacaroonsEach month, classes are offered on everything from how to make her famous French macaroons to boozed-up cupcakes. No matter the type of class, the ingredients are the same: Hands-on tutorials with Ali and Co., secret tips of the trade (like how they make those gorgeous macaroon swirls) and an endless amount of sugar, smiles, and of course, edible party favors to take home — if they make it that far. Class prices range from $25 to $45 and include all materials, tools and leave you off-duty when it comes to clean up, which is priceless in my book.

Online registration and payment is done through their Eventbrite link. Also, be sure to check out the special holiday-themed classes such as pie-making in November and cookie-decorating in December to get you ready for any upcoming holiday celebrations. Alleycakes is also available for private party rental — perfect for childrens’ birthdays, bridal showers and corporate team-building events. Meet, Make & Celebrate offers various packages for every taste, and the room is such a blank canvas, you can turn it into anything theme you like!  View Alleycakes’ full class schedule here.
