Grocery shopping can be overwhelming and time consuming, especially if your kids come with you to the store. It’s actually one of the tasks I dread doing since becoming a mom, as it often feels more like a field trip that ends up lasting for several hours, leaving us all exhausted by the end. Walmart understands that this struggle is real, which is the beauty of their Online Grocery Pickup.
It was actually perfect timing when I tried Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup service. Coincidentally, I ended up getting sick the same week I planned to use the service, and as it was during the work week, my husband didn’t have time to hit up the store — Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup saved the day!
Registering to use the Online Grocery Pickup was simple, fast and free, and shopping for items was a breeze, too. To speed up the process, I wrote a list of what I needed before shopping online, and it was quicker to use the search box to find the items.
When you’re ready to checkout, you can review your shopping cart, select your reservation time and which Walmart location you’d like to pick up your order. There is a deadline for you to be able to change your reservation time if you need to.
The whole online shopping process took me about 20 minutes, and a few minutes before our reservation time, my husband arrived at Walmart to pick up our order. He was happy to report that the pickup process was a satisfying experience.
There were easy-to-spot orange “Pickup” signs in the parking lot, and the instructions on what to do to pick up your order are also shown to you after placing your order online.
He called the phone number on the signs that alerted the grocery pickup service that he was ready to pick up our order, and after just a few minutes, someone came out to his car to deliver our groceries.
I always inspect my produce carefully to ensure I pick the best ones out of the bunch, so I was anxious to see which ones Walmart chose for our order. I was impressed that the fruit placed in my “shopping cart” were the same ones I would have physically chosen myself, which is part of their “peace-of-mind guarantee.” Their expert team picks the freshest items for you or your money back.
Overall, I’m glad I tried out Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup. The whole process was pain-free, and I didn’t have to prep my kids to refrain from placing random items into our cart like I would have had to do if we were actually shopping in the store.
Walmart Online Grocery Pickup has recently expanded their range of items available, too. Prepping for a big holiday dinner? You can even buy your table-setting essentials like tablecloths, plates and silverware. Additionally, this is the first year that the online pickup will sell Christmas trees (select artificial trees), holiday décor and gingerbread houses.
For me, having someone else do my shopping sure beats doing it myself, particularly on days when I’m busy or sick. Saving time anyway I can is a necessity as a mom. Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup is a great way for my family and I to have more time to enjoy our weekends, which is when we usually tackle our grocery shopping. If you need a #GroceryHero to help save you time, give Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup a try!

I actually used this service after receiving a $10 off coupon in the mail. It was Awesome! My Walmart up the street doesn’t have this yet, BUT it still took less time to order online and drive to one that did, vs shopping with my two lovely and spirited children. I was most nervous about having them select my produce bc I’m a little picky, but everything they gave us flawless! I highly recommend using this service!
That’s great to hear you had a good experience, too, with their service. Oh yes, this was so much more convenient than shopping with kids!
