Why This Mom HEARTS Publix!

This is NOT a paid advertisement – I really, really love Publix!

publixIt’s not because of the fabulous customer service…

I never wait at checkout. When you’ve got four kids that have just endured an hour of grocery shopping, this is super important!

I never spend too long searching for a grocery item. Someone always seems to realize I am searching for something and walks me to the item.

On one occasion I needed some ice cream cups for my child’s birthday treat at school. Our Publix was out of the item, but the manager had it delivered from another store so we could have it in time for our special treat!

When I was pregnant, they practically took my shopping list and loaded my shopping cart!

I never feel guilty having the bagger walk me to my car to load my groceries. The “No Tipping” policy makes my shopping more pleasurable for sure!

Have I shopped elsewhere? Yes, but it rarely seems worth the money I might save.Publix Trick or Treat

It’s not because of the special events…

Every year we go trick or treating at our Publix. Almost all of the employees are dressed in costume. We go from department to department scoring candy galore. So much fun!

On Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, they have “Decorate Your Own Cookie Cake.” The kids really enjoy piling on as many different colors of icing as they can!

It’s not because of the awesome bakery or deli…

Let’s face it. Publix cakes are super delicious and very affordable. What some people may not know is that they can make almost any cake if you bring in a picture. And Publix donuts have become my favorite!

And the deli. Yum! Publix subs are pretty amazing! The kids give high scores to their popcorn chicken, and birthday parties are made easy with their party trays!

It’s not because of the friendly coupon policyPublix coupons

I love that they take competitor’s coupons and that BOGO’s are considered separate purchases, allowing customers to use two coupons on one BOGO purchase!

I get excited about the publication of the weekly ad each Thursday. There are always great specials, including BOGO’s and additional store coupons.

I love that they do rain checks. If my Publix is out of a sale item, they will give me a rain check to use at a later date honoring the sale price!

Aprons Meals

It’s not because of the Aprons Meals

I love that I can see a recipe and taste it right there in the store. I know immediately if it’s worth the time and effort. How brilliant that they have all the ingredients ready for you to purchase?

It’s not because of the awesome Baby Club or Preschool Pals Club…

The Publix Baby and Preschool Pals Clubs are great for moms because they send quarterly coupons and a newsletter. Lots of free items and other great savings. There is always great advice in the newsletter, too!

It’s not because of the race car shopping carts or free balloons…

The race car shopping carts and free balloons make it fun for the kids, making grocery shopping a fun adventure for the whole family! We also are encouraged to visit the lobsters where the seafood department had often pulled one out to let the kids look at. And of course, my kids are all too familiar with the free cookies from the bakery.

DSCN1208I love Publix because they are an integral part of my community!

I love anything that makes me feel like I live in a small town. And Publix feels like home.

My kids can always count on Ms. Lily or Mr. Carlos to give them a cookie and ask how school is going. They know that sometimes Mr. Joey will sneak up on them and produce and say “Boo!” It’s hard to pick which checkout lane because we love so many of the cashiers.

When I was pregnant, they all kept tabs on me and were all anxious to meet my new babies each time.

Publix also is always supportive of our community. We can count on them to invest in local schools and other non-profits.

And no this is not a sponsored post! I just love Publix!

I am thankful that Publix is a part of the community where I am raising my kids. Is there a place you frequent that feels like home to you?

  1. Publix lover over here too. Have you checked out their iPhone app? You can search their coupons and sales ad to create a shopping list, adding in your own items too. The app sorts the list for the aisles at your home store (which you set in the app) BUT!!! if you happen to stop at another publix, you simply put in the publix you are at, and it will rearrange your list for you so it matches that store’s aisles. Easily the best app I own.

  2. I too cannot say enough about my PUBLIX. They wrote the book on customer service as well as good, clean stores. I will gladly pay a little extra just to not stand in Walmart’s lines only to be ignored or talked to rudely by Walmart personnel who clearly HATE their jobs. THANK YOU PUBLIX!!!!

  3. Love publix. They also recently started having online ordering for the deli. You can place your order for meat and cheese and it will be ready when you get there!

  4. Seriously, walking me out to the car and loading my groceries? Umm, yes please! Sometimes I feel guilty and think I don’t need it but then when my kid is trying to scale the shopping cart and demanding my attention I quickly realize how wonderful this service is! LOVE Publix! And I love their organics more!

  5. A few years I was fostering a chid with some emotional issues. There was always some one at the door immediately when we walked in to push the cart, leaving my hands free to catch her in a tantrum. She never hit the ground once while shopping in Publix. They’d also help us “celebrate” when we had a good visit. I love Publix.
