The end of the school year is upon us again and if you are like me you are sooooo ready for summer! Wrapping up the school year is fun and lots of families have different ways they like to celebrate. Here are some end of the school year traditions you can start with your family!
Decorate the Car
I LOVE this one and will try it this year as we are headed to Disney the day school lets out. Grab some window paint at the hardware store and decorate the windows with suns and sayings for summer. A small touch that can make a great memory. Picture from the Happy Home Fairy.
Have a Teacher Sign a Special Book
This would be such a great thing to start with your kids. Grab a copy of Dr. Seuess’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go” and every year at the end of the year have your child’s teacher write a note in the book. Then at highschool graduation, present them with the book. What an amazing keepsake!
Host a Party
Invite the class or neighborhood over for a water themed party pool, water balloons, or slip n slide. Let the kids cool down with some popsicles and voila! You can make it as simple or as elaborate as you want.
End of the Year Interview
Ask your kids a list of questions and see how they change each year. What’s their favorite food, favorite activity, best memory about the school year. Here is a link to a fabulous printable interview from the Pinning Mama!
End of School Basket
Surprise the kids with a basket stuffed with goggles, pool toys, water guns and s’more ingredients to kick off summer. I like this one from My Mix of Six.
End of the Year Picture
This one has become very popular! Take a picture at the end of the year. These are awesome to compare to the first day of school so you can see how the kids have changed over the year! Here is a free “last day of school” printable that matches the “first day of school” printable we posted back in August!
