Jax Mom Favorites: Our Fall Fashion Look Book

fall fashion
Clockwise from top: Sharnique in The Muva Collective tee, Aya in a Cotton On graphic tee, Adair in a chambray romper (no longer available, similar here), Fitz in a John Lennon-inspired New York City T-shirt, and Lennox in a Cotton On graphic tee.

I teamed up with Sharnique (@thatdopemom) to share some of our favorite kids’ fashion finds that are next-level cute, won’t break the bank (or the planet), and, most importantly, that your kids will love to wear! From affordable big brands to smaller boutiques, we both agree that mixing basics with some more unique pieces are a great way to keep your kid from looking like an explosion of sequins or cheesy patterns — but without sacrificing fun.

In fact, whenever people ask me how my toddlers look so cute most of the time, my biggest piece of advice is to fill their wardrobes with items you both love, and that work well together. It didn’t surprise me that Sharnique uses the same strategy for her babes who are always serving lewks. So, here are a few pieces and brands that will kick your kids’ wardrobes up a few notches this fall.

Cotton On

This brand takes the cake for affordable, breathable, on-trend pieces that you don’t see everywhere! Aya and Lennox are rocking graphic tees from Cotton On in the image above, and this Tilly Playsuit ($17.99) was a must-have when I saw it pop up in Sharnique’s feed. (More on their hats, later.)

Amazon (Duh!)

When you need something fast and fairly cheap, of course, you turn to Amazon. In fact, I’m going to do a whole roundup of great kids’ Amazon fashion finds for my next look book.

Toddler Ringer Shorts, starting at $5.69.
Toddler Bloomers, $18.89.
Flutter-Sleeve Swing Dress, $14.50. (Available in so many cute colors!)

All stripes, all the time in this house. This gray and white striped dress ($11.99) has adjustable straps that tie on their own, so your little girl can wear this for several seasons!

Remie Girl

Adair loves her romper, and I love that her little legs are covered in a soft fabric to protect her from the sun and pesky mosquitoes. A family and female-owned brand, all Remie Girl products are made in the United States.

Cute girls' romper
Junie Jumper, $40.

Old Navy

I can’t talk about clothing my kids without mentioning the O.G., Old Navy. The prices are truly unbeatable, the clothes stand up to even the craziest 2-year-old boy, and I love their array of neutral colors and minimalist patterns. Old Navy is also my secret for adorable kids’ shoes!

Tiny Whales

Tiny Whales is another family-owned small business that makes all of its clothes in Los Angeles. The rad, retro vibe of these graphic tees and tanks is so much cooler than bedazzled garbage, and my kids love the designs! I order them a size or two up and totally mix ’n’ match “genders.” After all, real men wear pink, right?

Rock and Roll Tank Top, $20.

Less. Is. More. We love Primary for its simple colors and patterns, great cuts, and incredibly comfy kidswear. In the first photo below, Aya is wearing the T-Shirt Hoodie ($24) and Field Short ($16), and Lennox is in the Classic Tee ($16) and Drawstring Pocket Skirt ($16). Second photo features both girls wearing the Short-Sleeve Twirly Dress ($24).

Gigi Pip

We may have hopes for cooler temps, but the Florida sun is here to stay, whatever the season. Gigi Pip hats are, in a word, everything. And, yes, you’re allowed to get a matching one for yourself. Also, no surprise that Sharnique and her girls are wearing every other brand we’ve listed here. Aya is wearing the Cotton On Kate Playsuit ($14.99) and Lennox has on the Linen-Blend Utility Romper ($24.99) from Old Navy.

We could keep going all day, but you’ve probably done enough scrolling (and “adding to cart”) for now! We’ll also be adding a LikeToKnowIt to @jacksonvillemom on Instagram, so we can keep the inspo coming!

What are some of your favorite kids’ brands?

Allie never would have guessed that she’d be calling Jacksonville, Florida home, but here she is! A midwest native, she’s lived in Indiana, New York City, Jax, Chicago and has now returned to the First Coast with her family—husband Jonny, two toddlers, Adair & Fitz, and an ageless cockapoo. Her professional history and range of passions is as all-over the map as her home bases. With degrees in musical theatre and journalism, Allie has worked both as Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleader (go ROAR!) and, most recently, a senior content strategist. She loves being a mom more than anything in the world (even wine) and is excited to be sharing the ups and downs of her journey with you.
