Part I: Help Me Design My Office!

With the kids back to school and their activities back in full swing, I have really seen a need to get myself organized.  Us moms have a BIG job, you know!?  And with that thought, I realized the importance of having a place that helps me stay organized during the week.  Luckily for me, I have an office that gives me space to do just that, stay organized and stay on top of all my jobs as a mom.  Unfortunately, I have been worried about all the other rooms in the house and my office has become the room to shove everything in that we don’t need to use right now.  It’s dark and depressing and I find I’m NEVER in there.

Here is the room now.  (A total mess!!)

So I thought it would be fun to ask for your, the reader’s, help in getting my office in shape and making it a fun place for me to spend some productive time. I’ll post pictures of choices and YOU will vote on what you like for the office! I’ll give you design tips, strategies, and ideas along the way.

This week, we are looking to pick the inspiration for the start of the design. In designing a room, I always tell people to start with something they LOVE. It doesn’t matter what it is. It could be a fabric, a painting, a family heirloom. Just anything you LOVE and want to include in your room.

In my case, I love art. We have a few pieces that need a spot, but I can’t decide if I want them in the office or somewhere else. So please help me decide! Next we’ll talk wall color and fabrics! Then at the end of October we will do a big reveal so you can see what you voted on come to life!!!

So which one?

B )  Green and Red Deer. (artist: Wendy Martin)
