"MOSH

Before the new Shipwreck! Pirates & Treasure exhibit opened at MOSH I let my son Cole skip school and attend a special sneak peek, behind the scenes tour of the new exhibit with me. The agreement was, that in exchange for a day of playing hooky at the museum, he would write up a short review of the new exhibit. So here you go moms {and dads} – A kid tested and mom approved perspective on why you should visit the new Shipwreck exhibit at MOSH.

"MOSH1. Real Treasure

The new MOSH exhibit has lots of treasure explorers found on the ocean floor. There are gold and silver bars, and also coins. You can also see artifacts such as candlesticks and glass bottles. This treasure and artifacts can help you learn about how people lived long ago.

"MOSH2. The Hurricane Machine

If you visit the Shipwreck! Pirates & Treasure exhibit you can feel how hard the winds were when some ships sank. The winds go as fast as a hurricane. I didn’t want to go in it, so I made my mom do it.

"MOSH3. Interactive Exhibits

If you go to MOSH you can experience a lot of fun interactive exhibits. You can control a robotic arm and try to pick up treasure just like explorers would under the sea. In the pirate room, you can try to identify the pirate booty, raise different pirate flags, and look through a telescope to identify pirate ships. There is lots of other fun stuff do there.

"MOSH4. Largest Traveling Exhibit

Shipwreck! Pirates & Treasure is the biggest traveling exhibit MOSH has ever had. It takes up two floors of the museum. There are treasure and artifacts on the third floor and on the second floor there are lots of interactive exhibits. The exhibit will be there for six months; most exhibits are at MOSH for only three months.

"MOSH5. Jacksonville History

At the Shipwreck! Pirates & Treasure exhibit you can see treasure found off the Jacksonville coast. They found a China Jar two hundred feet under the sea off the coast of Jacksonville. You can see the jar and other artifacts in the Blue China exhibit.
