The property at 10244 103rd Street was originally purchased by Duval County on August 19, 1960 from Hercules, Inc. When consolidation occurred in 1968, the 14-acre park became part of the City of Jacksonville’s facilities in the Department of Recreation and Public Affairs. The park consists of a 0.5-mile lighted asphalt Go-Kart track, bleachers, grills, restrooms and parking. The North Florida Kart Club has been active at the site since its early days and has helped in its maintenance and park improvements by its fund-raising efforts. In addition, the Club hosts regional and national Go-Kart races at the facility.
This park is named after A. Philip Randolph who grew up in Jacksonville and became one of the most important figures of the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950s and 1960s. A life-size bronze statue of Olympic Gold Medallist and Dallas Cowboy star, Bob Hayes, was added to the park in November 2002. Hayes grew up in Jacksonville, less than a mile from the park. Park amenities include playscapes, an amphitheater, picnic tables, benches and restrooms.
The Fort Family Regional Park site is situated between Baymeadows Road East and I-295 in southeast Jacksonville.Park facilities currently include a tennis complex with clay courts, hard court and pickle ball courts, soccer fields, playground, pavilions, and restrooms. Future Phase will include the construction of the Baseball Fields and Fishing Pier.
Additional Amenities include: Concession stand, hiking trail, bike racks, and grills.
