Jacksonville’s Kids Free November

November is upon us, which means it’s time for one of our annual faves: Kids Free November! Jacksonville’s Kids Free November is a month-long event involving some of the most popular attractions on the First Coast. Let your kids explore, learn something new and spend some quality family time, even when you are on a budget, in Jacksonville! Many attractions are offering free admission to kids during the month and others are offering free treats or family outings for children. Promotions vary by attraction so be sure to read the fine print and while no coupons are necessary, you may need to mention Free Kids November to take advantage of the deals.

COMMUNITY FIRST IGLOO

CUMMER MUSEUM OF ART & GARDENS

The Cummer Museum holds one of the finest art collections in the Southeast, with nearly 5,000 objects in its Permanent Collection. The Museum offers world-class art spanning from 2100 B.C. through the 21st century, features diverse special exhibits, and is home to the Wark Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain. Don’t miss the Museum’s 2.5 acres of historically significant gardens that are unique examples of early 20th century garden design, featuring reflecting pools, fountains, arbors, antique ornaments, and sculptures. The majestic Cummer Oak has a canopy of more than 150 feet and is one of the oldest trees in Jacksonville.

DAVE & BUSTER’S JACKSONVILLE

Back in the late 1970s, Buster opened a restaurant known for its tasty food and friendly service. A few doors down, Dave opened an outrageous place for entertainment and games where adults were irresistibly drawn for fun. The two young entrepreneurs noticed people rotating between their establishments, and an idea started to form: What if they put both under one roof?

FSCJ ARTIST SERIES

FSCJ Artist Series is a professional presenter of live performing arts specializing in touring Broadway, Concerts, Dance, Opera, Family, Comedy and Variety productions. MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & HISTORY (MOSH)

MOSH features interactive, award-winning exhibitions such as Currents of Time, Atlantic Tails and JEA PowerPlay. The Museum’s most popular exhibits include the health science exhibition, Health in Motion and the Florida Naturalist’s Center, which houses animals native to Northeast Florida. The Animation Academy is NOW OPEN at MOSH through February 12. MOSH is stoked to invite everyone to come out and step into the remarkable world of animation through the decades. RITZ THEATRE AND MUSEUM

The Ritz Theatre and Museum is the premiere African American arts facility in the historical LaVilla area of downtown Jacksonville. The beautiful facility houses a 400-seat theatre and a museum and gallery which feature a permanent collection and traveling exhibits from around the country.

Adventure Kayak Florida is the official concessionaire for Hanna Park in Jacksonville, Florida, offering kayak & canoe rentals and lessons on the park’s 60 acre fresh water lake, mountain bike & beach cruiser rentals, camping supplies and guided kayak tours around Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is a 120-acre property with an interesting history. From about 1944 to 1961, the Humphries Gold Mining Company operated strip mines in this area of Jacksonville. In 2004, a group of citizens began discussions with the City to lease the property for recreational use as an arboretum. At the time the Arboretum opened, there was a paved parking area, the Lake Loop, Jones Creek and Ravine trails. All of the trails, benches, board walks, and picnic tables in the Arboretum were built by volunteers from the community.
