Jacksonville’s Kids Free November

November is upon us, which means it’s time for one of our annual faves: Kids Free November! Jacksonville’s Kids Free November is a month-long event involving some of the most popular attractions on the First Coast. Let your kids explore, learn something new and spend some quality family time, even when you are on a budget, in Jacksonville! Many attractions are offering free admission to kids during the month and others are offering free treats or family outings for children. Promotions vary by attraction so be sure to read the fine print and while no coupons are necessary, you may need to mention Free Kids November to take advantage of the deals.

November is the perfect month to visit Jacksonville as the city hosts dozens of special sporting, music, cultural, and holiday events that are also free to the public. COMMUNITY FIRST IGLOO

CUMMER MUSEUM OF ART & GARDENS

The Cummer Museum holds one of the finest art collections in the Southeast, with nearly 5,000 objects in its Permanent Collection. The Museum offers world-class art spanning from 2100 B.C. through the 21st century, features diverse special exhibits, and is home to the Wark Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain. Don’t miss the Museum’s 2.5 acres of historically significant gardens that are unique examples of early 20th century garden design, featuring reflecting pools, fountains, arbors, antique ornaments, and sculptures. The majestic Cummer Oak has a canopy of more than 150 feet and is one of the oldest trees in Jacksonville.

FSCJ ARTIST SERIES

FSCJ Artist Series is a professional presenter of live performing arts specializing in touring Broadway, Concerts, Dance, Opera, Family, Comedy and Variety productions. In addition, the FSCJ Artist Series understands the importance of providing high-quality arts education enrichment programs to children in the community.

IFLY JACKSONVILLE

MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART (MOCA)

RITZ THEATRE AND MUSEUM

The Ritz Theatre and Museum is the premiere African American arts facility in the historical LaVilla area of downtown Jacksonville. The beautiful facility houses a 400-seat theatre and a museum and gallery which feature a permanent collection and traveling exhibits from around the country.

Outdoor Attractions

An experience your kids will never forget, a tour at Catty Shack Ranch is sure to wow them! Catty Shack Ranch is open for daytime tours every afternoon in November (except Thanksgiving Day). Be sure to check their calendar to see the list of tours.

The Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is a 120-acre property with an interesting history. From about 1944 to 1961, the Humphries Gold Mining Company operated strip mines in this area of Jacksonville. In 2004, a group of citizens began discussions with the City to lease the property for recreational use as an arboretum. At the time the Arboretum opened, there was a paved parking area, the Lake Loop, Jones Creek and Ravine trails. All of the trails, benches, board walks, and picnic tables in the Arboretum were built by volunteers from the community.

Jacksonville BMX has been around since the ’70’s which makes it a long standing family oriented place for everyone to come and enjoy the fun and excitement.

We are a local Christian non-profit beach coffee shop looking to serve our local community one cup at a time. This coffee shop is primarily run by volunteers and is located just steps from the beach. Volunteers learn to love our community well by serving coffee, smoothies, pastries and sandwiches all with a warm smile. Flexible hours and a fun environment make volunteering with Cup of Job the best way to serve our local community all while creating great memories and building relationships that last a lifetime.

The Happy Brew Café idea brewed out of Southside Student involvement in the Missing Voices Project through Flagler College. As we listened to families, we learned that students with Intellectual and Developmental Differences (IDD) could teach us more about love and grace than we could ever discover on our own.  We wanted to create an environment where we could be in community together, and what better place than a café designed for all abilities.
