All About the Brows

I know what you’re thinking, ANOTHER BEAUTY tutorial talking about all these products that I have to use to make up myself look somewhat presentable..blah….blah…blah.

If you’ve watched any celebrity programs or even scrolled through Youtube and Instagram, you’ll see that brows are still everywhere. Unfortunately, we don’t all have a glam squad to do our makeup on call to perfect our look.  So I’m here to give you a secret that even some celebrities use to shorten the time it takes to get glammed up.

As I’ve previously covered in this tutorial, brows make a HUGE difference when doing your makeup. I know what you’re saying to me… COME ON…I’m a mom and only have a few minutes to barely even apply some mascara and lipgloss before I leave the house. Well, yes, I’m sort of telling you to apply some mascara and lipgloss before you leave (unless you’re going to the gym because I will NEVER understand people that wear full faces of makeup at the gym, even first thing in the morning). But what if I tell you that I’m here to save you time and money. Don’t we all love that?

I’ve been fascinated with filling in my brows ever since I realized how put together it makes me look. I only do it when I have to be fully made up, but I do love spending the extra 5 minutes to perfect them. BUT…what if I tell you that I’ve found the HOLY GRAIL for us ladies that don’t want to take the time to do all that EVERY.SINGLE.TIME?!? Yes, I am shouting because I must share the news! I’ve been going to my brow threading lady, Sudie, for over 3 years. She’s the reason that my brows have their shape. A few months ago, she introduced me to brow tinting. Y’all, this has changed my daily life. I no longer have to fill in my brows at all! The tint is a specially formulated brow hair product that lasts about a month to six weeks. I always get my brows threaded first and then she tints them. The whole “procedure” takes about 15 minutes and costs about $20. They look VERY intense at first, Very intense. As you can see in the pictures below, they do gradually fade as the days and weeks go on. The best part is that there is no maintenance to be done and you really don’t need any additional tools. Maybe every once in a while I’ll add some brow gel to tame them, but that’s about it.FullSizeRender{during the application process}

Here’s a comparison of my brows (sorry not sorry for all the selfies, ha!). The first picture was taken as I would normally fill in my brows, the middle picture is taken the day after they were done and the last picture was taken approximately two weeks after the tinting. I love how they look now and I spend barely any time on grooming them.
