January came and January went and boy did it go quickly. It really is hard to believe that JMB began the 30 day challenge with Timed Exercise one month ago, though it is not hard at all to see the results we’ve had!
Right from the start, the JMB team knew we were a part of something good. Week after week, our bodies have been challenged as we learned how to maximize our t:e workout.
As the challenge drew to a close, I polled the team members curious about their final impressions and if people experienced tangible results. After four weeks of hard work, sweat and sore muscles, I can say without a doubt that T:E WORKS! Here’s what the JMB team had to say in their own words…
Jennifer: She is a SAHM of a two-year-old and a novice when it comes to exercise. She really enjoyed working out at Timed Exercise because “the trainers are knowledgeable and very helpful with modifying the exercises for beginners. I never felt like a beginner because everyone was always cheering me on! I lost 8lbs during this challenge!”
Vicky: A JMB co-founder and busy mom of two who has always been a relatively “fit” person said t:e surprised her. “I never expected to be so challenged. The first workout was a killer, and four weeks later, the workouts are still just as tough. What I really like is the variety and creativity of each Workout of the Day. I’m doing new exercises, working new muscles, and getting in cardio and weight training!”
Jessica: This working mother of two describes herself as one with zero workout experience. “After 7 visits, I can definitely feel a difference in my body and feel stronger. I love that there is an instructor there to correct me when my hands/feet aren’t in the right place, to encourage me, etc. If I was going to the gym on my own, I would never push myself the way I am pushed and challenged while at t:e.”
Cheryl P: This mother with a part-time job is a consistent exerciser. She believes the “workouts are excellent and adaptable for people of all skill levels. I definitely feel stronger and always leave with a sense of accomplishment. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have gained confidence in my abilities.”
Julie: A mother of two young girls loved getting in a hard workout in half an hour. Though the workouts were “tough, and frequently I didn’t feel physically fit enough to be able to do some of the exercises, the instructors (Ashley at the beach was particularly great) were happy to provide modifications and always made sure I had proper form. Ultimately, I think you’d be hard-presssed to find a workout as efficient and effective as Timed Exercise. You can always find 30 minutes.”
Kacey: Fitness and nutrition have been on this mother of three’s radar for the last few months. Being a part of our t:e challenge made a big difference. “I’m down 11 lbs since January 1! I have been doing weight watchers since November though and found that adding t:e really helped me start shedding pounds quick!”
Jessica S: An active mother of two, Jessica found the month challenge to be well…challenging but in a good way! “I completed so many exercises I had never done before, and I always felt supported by the trainers. Using the rings, bars and variety of weights made the workouts interesting, and I loved being able to squeeze in class before school pick-up or in the evening. I lost 3 pounds during this challenge and gained strength and confidence.
What makes these results more impressive is when you do the math. Four of our team members lost a total of 35 pounds in four weeks! These moms averaged 2-3 workouts per week. Yup, that’s a whopping hour and half of t:e workouts each week!
Some may question the price thinking its a little too expensive for a thirty minute workout. When you break it down, it is quite comparable with other specialty gyms like a yoga studio. Plus, t:e is more of a small group training session with a professional than an instructor on display for all to follow. In the largest class possible, it is still a 10:1 ratio, much better than your average group fitness class. If you buy the JMB month-to-month rate of $79 (our lucky readers do not pay a membership fee!!) and attend at least three classes, you are really only spending $6.50 per class. Worth every cent!
Timed Exercise’s format makes fitness doable for people with busy lives. It doesn’t matter whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting to exercise, a t:e workout is right for anyone. It is challenging, but you have a personal trainer for a guide helping you navigate through any unknown territory. Thirty minute workouts can build muscle and change your body. Shannon summed it up best, “It was hard work, but very rewarding.”
