Champions Rainbow Rec Gymnastics Program is structured to follow USA Gymnastics guidelines and is designed to provide each child with top quality learning experience in a safe and loving environment. We offer levels for the first timer all the way up to the most advanced gymnast. Classes are offered for boys ages 3-7 and girls ages 3-14. Our Rainbow Rec program concentrates on defined skills mastery and student evaluations. Each skill level of this program coincides with a color in the rainbow. Reach Destiny Arts is a professional dance studio with a Christian influence. Our goal is to passionately teach the joy of dance and help inspire your student to discover the unique gift that God has placed inside of them. At Little Seals Swim School, we offer one-on-one survival swim lessons to children as young as 8 months old. Babies/infants are taught to roll over and float on their backs. Once they reach a year old (or have been walking for about 6 weeks), they are taught to swim with their face in the water. The children are then taught to sequence the swimming with the floating in order to rest and breathe while swimming and playing in the water. They repeat the swim-float-swim sequence until they reach the steps or side. Once children are fully skilled, they have the opportunity to practice their skills fully clothed for “Silly Swim” lessons. Once lessons are completed, students are encouraged to maintain their skills by attending twice-monthly maintenance lessons (or semi-annual refresher lessons). Introduction to stroke lessons are, also, available for children that are developmentally ready (usually beginning between 4 and 6 years of age). Instructors are trained to present stroke lessons in a fun way that is relatable to young children.

The Swim Lesson Club indoor heated pool is located in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. Our pool is heated 92 degrees and perfectly designed for teaching all ages of swimming instruction.

We utilize endless swimming technology allowing us to easily correct technique and achieve excellent swimming conditioning for our developing swimmers. We offer videographer and stroke analysis that is very difficult to accomplish in a normal lap swimming pool. We partner with Swim Angelfish and utilize a special methodology ideal for children with water anxiety, sensory sensitivity, autism, or in need of adapted swimming instruction.

We partner with US Masters Swimming to provide top-notch swim coaching for our developing and advanced swimmers. Our adult students benefit from our partnership with US Masters Swimming and the Emperor Penguin adult learn to swim program/ self-teaching method.

Instructors are certified Lifeguards and often Red Cross WSI certified. The Swim Lesson Club instructor mentoring process allows good instructors to become amazing working directly with the owner for weeks or months before they will teach classes independently. Our instructors are the best and achieve consistent progress with their students. We are not satisfied for our students to stagnate in lessons, our team will collaborate to adjust strategies for each student to achieve results in a fun way. We specialize in private or semi-private classes to focus our attention on each student’s unique learning process.

We offer classes designed for the beginning dancer through the most advanced in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop. For those looking for something a little different, we offer a well rounded Musical Theatre program, with emphasis on the “triple threat” of voice, drama and dance. Chuck Rogers Park is located in Mandarin, north of the intersection of San Jose Blvd. and Orange Picker Rd. Sometime between 1968-1977, a borrow pit was excavated on part of the site, which was later used as a private landfill. The efforts of the City, Councilman Dick Kravitz, and the Jacksonville Youth Soccer Club led to the purchase of the site in 1995 and its development as Mandarin’s first soccer park, which opened for the inaugural game March 7, 1997. An additional 1.1-acre parcel for the park was donated to the City in 1998. The park is named for Chuck Rogers (1909-1980), who worked for the Parks and Recreation Dept. for 41 years. He started and ran the City’s youth leagues in all sports, was the guiding light in the tremendous rise of slow-pitch softball in the City, served for many years as the grand marshal for the City’s parades, and much more. Eventually, Mr. Rogers was inducted into the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame.

This class combines strength training and power walking. Class ends with a focus on improving core strength and flexibility. This 45 minutes we will focus on Mommy or Daddy, so any child who still sits in a stroller is welcome!
Please bring a towel, water, and a resistance band.
Classes are held Mondays only. More days will be added if there is demand.

Family Music & Movement classes incorporate songs with movement and various hand held instruments. Classes are mixed-age but geared to 0-2 yrs old.

The Mandarin Museum and the 1898 St. Joseph’s Mission Schoolhouse for African-American Children are open every Saturday from 9-4 at Walter Jones Historical Park, 11964 Mandarin Rd. The museum features the Civil War steamship Maple Leaf which was sunk in the St. Johns River at Mandarin Point in 1864. On display are many artifacts recovered from the shipwreck, Civil War soldiers’ uniforms and an interactive exhibit about the diving operation that recovered the objects belonging to the soldiers. The historic schoolhouse is the last remaining one-room schoolhouse left in Duval County. While visiting, children can pick-up a park and museum scavenger hunt that helps them learn about important objects or sit in an old school desk and color or read a book, and learn about how different school was over 100 years ago. Following the visit to the museums, you will want to stroll the beautiful 10-acre Walter Jones Historical Park, walk along the St. Johns River on the boardwalk and imagine being dropped back in time to a quiet life of the early 1900s. Picnic tables and restrooms are available.

One of our goals with The Mini Bar is to partner with as many local businesses as possible. What’s a donut without really good coffee? We are very excited about partnering with Bold Bean Coffee Roasters for our coffee program. We will be serving a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, and will be making all of the syrups in house.  We have also partnered with local candy shop, Sweet Pete’s, and will have a donut on our menu featuring their famous sea salt caramel popcorn and caramel sauce.
