The 9A/Baymedows Regional Park site is situated between Baymeadows Road East and State Road 9A in southeast Jacksonville. The City purchased the 52-acre parcel from Disston Ranch in June 2002. Volunteer representatives from neighborhoods in the area, known as Baywatch, intent is to keep an eye on the development, growth, transportation, zoning, and parks and recreation issues relating to the area. Baywatch has had a significant role in the planning and funding for the Park in their coordination with Councilmember Graham and the Mayor’s Office. In December 2003, the Master Plan of the Regional Park was completed. Phase I development of the Soccer fields, infrastructure, playground, pavilions, and restrooms are open to the public by January 2008. Future Phase II will include the construction of the Baseball Fields, Fishing Pier, and Tennis Courts.
The Fort Family Regional Park site is situated between Baymeadows Road East and I-295 in southeast Jacksonville.Park facilities currently include a tennis complex with clay courts, hard court and pickle ball courts, soccer fields, playground, pavilions, and restrooms. Timuquana Park is located in the Timuquana Manor neighborhood of southwest Jacksonville, just east of bustling Roosevelt Boulevard. For each child, we will offer a comprehensive educational and therapeutic program, specifically providing students with customized academic plans, while integrating proven, research-based behavioral strategies into every learning task. Our school is unique from the public school settings, as we are able to focus on the specific needs of each individual child, whether academic, life skills, or behavioral. We are also unique in that we offer year-round school and extremely low student to teacher ratio (largest class 6:2), both of which are proven methods to help our children work toward their highest level of learning.

Crabtree Park is located in the Lakewood area, three blocks east of the intersection of San Jose Blvd. and University Blvd. West. Walter Crabtree developed the entire Lakewood area between 1946 and 1961, some of it around picturesque New Ross Creek that meanders through the northwest section. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Gifted Program at CLE
The Gifted Program is an enrichment curriculum to stimulate and encourage creative learning for students. The classroom uses divergent tasks to take the students outside their nine dots. They are challenged with problem solving to develop critical thinking skills. This approach requires alternative ideas. There are several projects that require problem solving to create an acceptable solution. In addition to hands on projects, they go on many field trips to learn firsthand the culture and creative methods of each place visited. A real memorable learning experience engrained in each child.
Students in Gifted Class have unique opportunities to receive a participatory and experimental approach to learning. The students achieve hands on levels of learning and knowledge not available in text books.
In order for a child to be in the Gifted Program, they must be first recommended to the Guidance office by their teacher or parents can request testing. Your child’s homeroom teacher is your first point of contact at the school. Once they are recommended, they will be tested to see if they qualify for gifted services.

Preschool: Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics. These classes are available Monday-Thursday 2:45-3:45 p.m. (Please note on the contract if you prefer a certain day.) This year we are also offering a Monday morning class from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
Kindergarten: Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics.
First through 4th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acrobatics. Remember, each class is separate with their own recital dance and costume. For example; if your child takes all 4 disciplines they will have 4 costumes. First grade does not have a recital dance for acrobatics, therefore would not have a costume for that class.
Fifth through 12th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Acrobatics. Pointe class must be with approval. Ballet and Pointe are two separate classes. You must take Ballet in order to take Pointe. The recital dance is learned during the Ballet Technique class when both Pointe and Ballet students are present.
Open Ballet Class: This is an additional dance class available for those students already enrolled in ballet. This is a class focused on ballet technique, stretching, and conditioning. It will be taught on an advanced level. It is open to anyone currently in Junior, Advanced 1 or Advanced 2 classes.
Extra Classes: If you wish to take additional classes please indicate on your registration form by putting the number of classes next to each discipline. (For example; Ballet – 2.) Any serious student should be taking a minimum of 2 Ballet classes per week beginning in 5th grade. Younger students may also take additional classes with approval.
Student Assistants: Students 7th grade and older are eligible to assist with classes. A tuition discount will be offered for assisting. You must assist for the entire year in order to receive a discount. Priority is given to older dancers. Please note on your registration the day and times you are available
Classes are leveled as students mature. Please respect your teacher’s placement. If changes need to be made, they will be adjusted after classes begin. We realize students dancing in summer programs may need to be re-evaluated in the Fall

St. Nicholas Playground is located adjacent to Spring Park Road in the St. Nicholas/Spring Park section of Jacksonville. Following City land purchases in 1936 and 1937, the park was created and originally named Spring Park, and was expanded by additional land acquisitions in 1944. The St. Nicholas Park and Home Park subdivisions were developed near the park in the late 1930’s to meet the housing needs of Jacksonville’s growing middle class, and the Spring Park Elementary School opened adjacent to the park in 1942. The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

Located in Jacksonville’s Southside, our childcare programs incorporate creative play, song and dance, planned activities, arts and crafts, and daily outside play activities. We provide childcare for children ages six weeks through five years old.

Lew Brantley Park playground is located in the 90-acre park with a community center, basketball courts, picnic areas, nature trail with fitness stations. This park is home to “Field of Dreams” Miracle League field, where special needs youth can experience playing baseball in their own league.
The groundbreaking for this 90 acre park was held on February 21, 2003. A large portion of this park will help preserve the environmentally sensitive area around McGirts Creek. At the completion of construction in March 2007, the park includes a community center, basketball courts, playground, picnic areas, trails, three youth baseball fields and two soccer fields. A highlight of the park is the “Field of Dreams” Miracle League field, where special needs children are able to experience playing in their own baseball league. Concieved by the West Jacksonville Rotary and funded by private donations, Lew Brantley Field was dedicated in May 2007.

In order to join the Pawsitive Reading program, children AND at least one parent/guardian must first attend a one-time Pawsitive Reading orientation. We offer several orientations each month. Upcoming orientation dates and sign-up links are below. Advance registration is required.

Orientations will take place in either the JHS Education Center or Conference Room (both are located upstairs, above the Adoption Center). Our address is 8464 Beach Blvd. Please arrive on time. The orientation will be around 40 minutes in length.
After attending an orientation, children and an adult chaperone may come to JHS to read to the animals anytime our Adoption Center is open (12pm-7pm on weekdays, 10am-5pm on weekends). Participants must sign in and out at the front desk when visiting JHS to read.
To ensure that our animals benefit from the program, we ask that readers spend at least 30 minutes reading – there is no maximum time limit.
Children may read to either dogs or cats and may bring their reading materials or borrow books from our Pawsitive Reading library.

Angelina Danese Park is located in south Jacksonville, at the intersection of Danese Court and St. Augustine Road. The site comprised part of the Philips community that was established in the last half of the 1800’s. Alexander and Angelina Danese, who arrived in America as immigrants from Italy in 1885, had twelve children following their marriage in 1898. The couple established their home on the park property in 1929, and after their deaths the children wanted to honor their parents’ memory. Their son Emanuel Danese, and his wife Mary Margaret, later donated the property to the city in 1973 for use as a passive public park – in honor of his parents and with the stipulation that it be named for his mother. But the site remained a vacant tract until the city, with the aid of City Councilmen Matt Carlucci and Reggie Fullwood, developed the property as a neighborhood park, which opened in March 2003.

For example; if your child takes all 4 disciplines they will have 4 costumes. First grade does not have a recital dance for acrobatics therefore would not have a costume for that class.
Fifth through 12th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Acrobatics. Pointe class must be with approval. Ballet and Pointe are two separate classes. You must take Ballet in order to take Pointe. There is however one costume for the two classes. The recital dance is learned during the Ballet Technique class when both Pointe and Ballet students are present.
Swimming Safari specializes in creating a life long love for swimming. Students of all ages are taught how to be safe, confident, & comfortable in the water. They offer a comprehensive program and unique curriculum that emphasizes water survival skills. The program efficiently progresses from beginner to advanced levels as each lesson is tailored to every student. All ages are welcome from 6 months to adults; it’s never too early nor too late to enjoy the water.

Since 2013, Apex Theatre Studio has produced over 40 productions in the Northeast Florida area.
