Dr. Andrea Cordero has been working with us for 9 years. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and then went on to medical school at California Northstate University. She has worked at completed her residency at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Cordero is also a mother to three children and a wife to a well-known local pediatrician.

Dr. Shelly Palmore has joined us in 2002 working part-time. She has received her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Shelly also writes an editorial column for the Clinical Advisor. She recently celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary to Dr. Patrick Palmore (a psychologist) and has two children.

Our number one goal is to teach your child to really swim, increasing their chance of survival in a water emergency. Secondly, we will teach your child to swim well by emphasizing correct competitive swimming techniques (streamline, body roll, bilateral breathing) from the beginning.

Jax Beach Surf Shop offers both private and group surf lessons along with stand up paddle boarding lessons. For adults and children ages 7 and up (parents must stay with children under 13 years of age). Lessons last 1 hour, 15 minutes and include the use of a soft surf board during the lesson and for the rest of the day, tutorial on how to surf, surfing safety, marine life awareness, rip current awareness, and surfing.

Saltwater Cowgirls offers private and group lessons for all, male and female. Private lessons provide a focused, one-on-one type of learning experience. This is a great way to personalize your training and receive dedicated attention and feedback from an experienced Saltwater Cowgirl instructor.

Private lessons are available to students of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’ve been surfing for years or are hitting the waves for the first time, Saltwater Cowgirls instruction will provide the guidance you’re looking for. Lessons are offered all year and will be scheduled according to favorable surf conditions. Lessons are available Monday – Saturday. We take Sundays off and do not offer lessons.

Group Surf Lessons are great opportunities for birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate outings and family fun in the sun.

The Florida Surfing Association was created in 2003 as an organized body for surfing within the United States and specifically the State of Florida. Our mission is to further the sport of surfing to our members, their families and throughout the State of Florida.

General surf lessons will teach the basics of surfing from beginner to advanced. We will have one instructor per student. We also recommend a flexible “floating” schedule to maximize your investment as the surf conditions often have a direct impact on the success of the lesson. Usually we can predict the surf and coordinate with the right tide and sand bar about 1-3 days in advance.

The Pottery Barn Kids store, located at the St. Johns Town Center offers a story time on Tuesdays from 11-11:30am.

Visit your local St. Johns County Public Library for weekly story time events as well as plenty of fun and resources for the entire family.

For 30 years, Sally Corporation has hosted thousands of visitors for a free tour of their robot factory. Tours are offered on Tuesday and Thursday, hourly from 9am-1pm. Minimum age is 7. No tours during July or August.

Kids can use a real hammer and build something great at one of the various Build and Grow Clinics at Lowes. Registration opens a few weeks before each clinic’s date.

The Kids Workshops are FREE how-to clinics for children. The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.

Kingsley Plantation is open seven days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. Admission is free.

You can explore the grounds at Kingsley Plantation, which include the slave quarters, barn, waterfront, plantation house, kitchen house, and interpretive garden. The visitor contact station/bookstore is located in a 1920s building adjacent to the plantation buildings.

We serve low-income children from the residents of our Davis Center from six weeks to 5 years of age in our four-star, state-of-the-art program. The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation was founded by former tennis professional and ’96 Wimbledon finalist MaliVai Washington.

TnT is a daily after-school program. TnT (Tennis-n-Tutoring) operates from 3pm-6pm, Monday-Friday in the MaliVai Washington Youth Center. TnT contains 3 sessions daily which provide academic assistance, tennis/fitness activities and life skills classes. Each child also receives a nutritious snack daily.
