The Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association is a North Florida youth sport association founded by three area coaches in 1989 for the purpose of promoting the sport of volleyball for school age students in the city and surrounding areas. These coaches were Mary Andrew (Former Head Coach, FSCJ), Elise Bush (Head Coach, The Bolles School), and Brandy King (Former Head Coach, Mayport Middle School).

In the past 26 years this association has grown from 3 teams, 30 players, and 3 coaches, to 74 teams, over 500 players, and 70+ coaches.

Our mission is to promote the sport of volleyball, as well as health and fitness throughout Northeast Florida by providing educational training and competitive playing opportunities to players of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels.

Village Dance Center located in Jacksonville Florida is directed by Karen Norris.

Preschool: Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics. These classes are available Monday-Thursday 2:45-3:45 p.m. (Please note on the contract if you prefer a certain day.) This year we are also offering a Monday morning class from 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Kindergarten: Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics.

First through 4th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acrobatics. Remember, each class is separate with their own recital dance and costume. For example; if your child takes all 4 disciplines they will have 4 costumes. First grade does not have a recital dance for acrobatics, therefore would not have a costume for that class.

Fifth through 12th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Acrobatics. Pointe class must be with approval. Ballet and Pointe are two separate classes. You must take Ballet in order to take Pointe. The recital dance is learned during the Ballet Technique class when both Pointe and Ballet students are present.

Open Ballet Class: This is an additional dance class available for those students already enrolled in ballet. This is a class focused on ballet technique, stretching, and conditioning. It will be taught on an advanced level. It is open to anyone currently in Junior, Advanced 1 or Advanced 2 classes.

Extra Classes: If you wish to take additional classes please indicate on your registration form by putting the number of classes next to each discipline. (For example; Ballet – 2.) Any serious student should be taking a minimum of 2 Ballet classes per week beginning in 5th grade. Younger students may also take additional classes with approval.

Student Assistants: Students 7th grade and older are eligible to assist with classes. A tuition discount will be offered for assisting. You must assist for the entire year in order to receive a discount. Priority is given to older dancers. Please note on your registration the day and times you are available

Crabtree Park is located in the Lakewood area, three blocks east of the intersection of San Jose Blvd. and University Blvd. West. Walter Crabtree developed the entire Lakewood area between 1946 and 1961, some of it around picturesque New Ross Creek that meanders through the northwest section. He conveyed the land for the park to Duval County in several deeds between 1957 and 1963. For over fifty years, Walter R. Crabtree (1899-1993) was a real estate developer and builder in Duval County. He operated his own lumber company, and built the Lakewood Apartments across from the park. Through the years, sports have been the main activity at Crabtree Park: organized youth baseball/softball games and pickup basketball games.

Duval Charter School at Baymeadows is a tuition-free public charter school proud to serve students in grades K-8. Named a School of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education, DCSB has received recognition for being an “A” graded school since its inception in 2011. DCSB is also among the highest-scoring charter schools in Duval County. We offer a rigorous curriculum with an individualized approach to learning and community-centered academic programs that equip your child to meet today’s challenges. These programs include Cambridge advanced classes and Gifted program, K-5 After school clubs and activities that include Robotics, Art, Music, Book Club, Harry Potter Club, Girls on the Run, and Playball, Band option for 5th graders. MS Athletics (football, cheer, cross country, soccer, basketball, track, baseball/softball, bowling, ultimate Frisbee), MS After school clubs that include National Junior Honors Society, Robotics, Student Government, Jr. Thespians, and more! Uniform school with a dress code enforced.

Duval Charter High School is a tuition-free public charter school educating students in grades 9-12. DCHS offers a robust, ​advanced curriculum ​(only AICE and honors courses available) that meets the needs of lifelong learners who enjoy coming to school every day. We offer a safe environment for students and incorporate Social Emotional Learning into the high school coursework. Student/Teacher relationships are important to student growth and comfort. We have a low student to teacher ratio which allows our students to engage with their teachers and each other. We have a school culture program where all students are assigned to a Hero Team. Students engage in Team Community Meetings and competitions. Students can earn rewards for themselves as well as their team when they show their Panther Spirit in word or deed. DCHS highlights include AICE, AP & Dual Enrollment, Honors Classes, National Honors Society, After school clubs and activities, and men and women’s athletic program. Graduation rate 98%-100% yearly, with 98% entering post-secondary education, trade school, or military. Uniform school with a dress code enforced.

Dansations provides quality and technically challenging dance in a fun creative environment. The studio has a comprehensive curriculum for ages 3 to adult.

The creative program for ages 3-7 has been strategically planned to include dance knowledge, creativity and just plain fun into every class. The class curriculum for ages 8 to adult offers a variety of settings. There are classes for all levels and all ages.

Legacy Ale Works was founded on a dream for our family and our love of beer and community. We hope to one day leave Legacy behind for our children and for the city of Jacksonville. In the meantime, we hope to be able to serve you great beer!

Jacksonville Academy of Gymnastics is one of Jacksonville’s newest gymnastics facilities. We offer traditional gymnastics classes for ages 18 Months and up along with Gem-Fit girls conditioning classes, Iron Man boys conditioning classes and Tumbl-Cheer classes combining cheer basics and tumbling. We also offer a competitive team program with low coach to athlete ratios that stresses conditioning and basics training at all levels.
