The Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association is a North Florida youth sport association founded by three area coaches in 1989 for the purpose of promoting the sport of volleyball for school age students in the city and surrounding areas. These coaches were Mary Andrew (Former Head Coach, FSCJ), Elise Bush (Head Coach, The Bolles School), and Brandy King (Former Head Coach, Mayport Middle School).

In the past 26 years this association has grown from 3 teams, 30 players, and 3 coaches, to 74 teams, over 500 players, and 70+ coaches.

Soccer Shots is a program offered to children ages 2-8 that meets once a week at daycare centers, preschools, elementary schools, parks, communities and churches throughout the city to introduce your child to soccer. Providing a high-energy, fun, age-appropriate introduction to soccer for kids, Soccer Shots is not your typical league, but rather a fun introduction to the basics of soccer with a focus on character development and confidence-building, that your children will use as they transition to league play. Programs are offered at over 80 locations throughout Duval, Clay, St. Johns and Nassau County.

Our doughnuts and glazes are all handmade from scratch in small batches throughout the day so your doughnut is delicious and fresh whenever you stop in.  And we use only the best ingredients–real, high quality butter, eggs, milk–you get the idea. We also seek out local partners who can offer exceptional ingredients.

We have about a dozen different rotating doughnuts on our menu plus doughnut sandwiches we lovingly call “doughwiches.”  We serve raised/yeast doughnuts, old-fashioneds, chocolate old-fashioneds and cake doughnuts. Our goal is to highlight seasonal and exciting flavors our baking team dreams up.

Family Music & Movement classes incorporate songs with movement and various hand held instruments. Classes are mixed-age but geared to 0-2 yrs old.

Timuquana Park is located in the Timuquana Manor neighborhood of southwest Jacksonville, just east of bustling Roosevelt Boulevard. The Museum of Science and History is a museum located  in downtown Jacksonville.  It is a private, non-profit institution located on the Southbank Riverwalk, and the city’s most visited museum. It specializes in science and local history exhibits.

MOSH has many kid-friendly exhibits as wells events and a planetarium. There are drop in rates as well as memberships that offer special benefits.

The Jacksonville Icemen, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and AHL’s Manitoba Moose, announced they were awarded an ECHL membership in February 2017, beginning with the 2017-18 season. The Icemen begin their 72 game season at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday, October 14 against the Orlando Solar Bears. Veterans United Craft Brewery is a small, independent, veteran-owned and operated craft brewery located in Jacksonville, FL. Bold City Brewery is locally owned and operated by Brian and Susan Miller. They are supported by the rest of the Miller family who all have a hand in the operations whether it be marketing, distributing, ordering supplies, cleaning tanks or doing what’s most important, brewing beer. Brian, the Brewmaster started with home brewing in 2002. He was a member of the Local Home Brewers Club here in Jacksonville prior to opening the brewery. His mother, Susan, is primarily responsible for managing the on-site Tavern.

Village Dance Center located in Jacksonville Florida is directed by Karen Norris.

Preschool: Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics. These classes are available Monday-Thursday 2:45-3:45 p.m. (Please note on the contract if you prefer a certain day.) This year we are also offering a Monday morning class from 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Kindergarten: Ballet/Tap combination with acrobatics.

First through 4th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acrobatics. Remember, each class is separate with their own recital dance and costume. For example; if your child takes all 4 disciplines they will have 4 costumes. First grade does not have a recital dance for acrobatics, therefore would not have a costume for that class.

Fifth through 12th grades may sign up for Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Acrobatics. Pointe class must be with approval. Ballet and Pointe are two separate classes. You must take Ballet in order to take Pointe. The recital dance is learned during the Ballet Technique class when both Pointe and Ballet students are present.

Open Ballet Class: This is an additional dance class available for those students already enrolled in ballet. This is a class focused on ballet technique, stretching, and conditioning. It will be taught on an advanced level. It is open to anyone currently in Junior, Advanced 1 or Advanced 2 classes.

Extra Classes: If you wish to take additional classes please indicate on your registration form by putting the number of classes next to each discipline. (For example; Ballet – 2.) Any serious student should be taking a minimum of 2 Ballet classes per week beginning in 5th grade. Younger students may also take additional classes with approval.

Student Assistants: Students 7th grade and older are eligible to assist with classes. A tuition discount will be offered for assisting. You must assist for the entire year in order to receive a discount. Priority is given to older dancers. Please note on your registration the day and times you are available

Classes are leveled as students mature. Please respect your teacher’s placement. If changes need to be made, they will be adjusted after classes begin. We realize students dancing in summer programs may need to be re-evaluated in the Fall

Our Center offers the new Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK); low teacher to children ratio, breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack provided at no additional cost.

After School Programs

After school programs are available at 5 sites including TEAM UP sites at Hyde Grove, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Oak Hill Elementary Schools; and four community based sites supervised homework assistance, tutoring programs, the NFL Play 60 physical fitness program; engaging field trips, and the Jaguars’ Honor Rows location.
