Jax Beach Surf Shop offers both private and group surf lessons along with stand up paddle boarding lessons. For adults and children ages 7 and up (parents must stay with children under 13 years of age). Lessons last 1 hour, 15 minutes and include the use of a soft surf board during the lesson and for the rest of the day, tutorial on how to surf, surfing safety, marine life awareness, rip current awareness, and surfing.

The 9A/Baymedows Regional Park site is situated between Baymeadows Road East and State Road 9A in southeast Jacksonville. The City purchased the 52-acre parcel from Disston Ranch in June 2002. Baywatch has had a significant role in the planning and funding for the Park in their coordination with Councilmember Graham and the Mayor’s Office. In December 2003, the Master Plan of the Regional Park was completed. Phase I development of the Soccer fields, infrastructure, playground, pavilions, and restrooms are open to the public by January 2008. Future Phase II will include the construction of the Baseball Fields, Fishing Pier, and Tennis Courts.

St. Nicholas Playground is located adjacent to Spring Park Road in the St. Nicholas/Spring Park section of Jacksonville. Following City land purchases in 1936 and 1937, the park was created and originally named Spring Park, and was expanded by additional land acquisitions in 1944. The St. Nicholas Park and Home Park subdivisions were developed near the park in the late 1930’s to meet the housing needs of Jacksonville’s growing middle class, and the Spring Park Elementary School opened adjacent to the park in 1942. The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

I strive to learn from and creatively tailor my treatments to each child and family (every kid is different!).

JaxKick Stars offer structured soccer classes for boys and girls ranging from 2 to 9 years old. Classes meet once a week for 30 minutes for 8 weeks session. Our fees are prorated weekly so new kids can join our program anytime during a session. Our younger classes learn the basic skills of soccer and play fun active games both with and without the soccer ball. Our goal is to introduce soccer in a fun environment that keeps kids coming back for more! Through fun games, songs and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. All age groups will include: fitness activities, coordination, balance and agility.

Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex is proud to be North Florida’s premier indoor sports and meeting facility. We offer a wide range of sporting facilities, including North Florida’s only NHL sized ice rink, basketball courts, broomball fields and multi-purpose space. First Athletes Sports Training (F.A.S.T.) is a child development program introducing children ages
2-6 to the world of sports in a
non-competitive, encouraging and most importantly FUN way!

Our curriculum based First Pitch Baseball, First Goal Soccer and our First Shot Basketball programs allow kids to create a foundation of skill before entering competitive sports leagues. Developmentally appropriate equipment is used in our weekly classes.

The Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association is a North Florida youth sport association founded by three area coaches in 1989 for the purpose of promoting the sport of volleyball for school age students in the city and surrounding areas. These coaches were Mary Andrew (Former Head Coach, FSCJ), Elise Bush (Head Coach, The Bolles School), and Brandy King (Former Head Coach, Mayport Middle School).

In the past 26 years this association has grown from 3 teams, 30 players, and 3 coaches, to 74 teams, over 500 players, and 70+ coaches.

Our mission is to promote the sport of volleyball, as well as health and fitness throughout Northeast Florida by providing educational training and competitive playing opportunities to players of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels.
