Labor is physically and emotionally challenging. Prepare yourself with comfort measures that can be used during early labor or for those choosing a more natural birth. This one-night virtual class will enhance what you have already learned in your childbirth preparation class. We offer two options for this virtual class:

In this condensed virtual class an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or Certified Lactation Counselor will teach you the most important evidence based concepts needed to get breastfeeding off to the best start. There will be plenty of time at the end of class to ask questions.

• how long and how often to feed
• baby’s feeding cues

Confederate Park playground in Jacksonville’s Historic Springfield area has unique, whimsical equipment that spurs the imagination. Surrounded by beauty and history the park also includes a serene fountain setting, statues, and a fenced 2.87-acre dog park.

Confederate Playground is located near downtown, in the Springfield section of north Jacksonville. First named Dignan Park, for a chairman of the Board of Public Works, it opened in 1907 and contained the City’s first supervised playground. The United Confederate Veterans chose Jacksonville as the site for their twenty-fourth annual reunion in 1914, which was attended by an estimated 48,000 former Confederate soldiers. Many of the activities took place in the park, and five months later it was renamed, Confederate Park. Troops, many from the nearby Armory, used the playground portion of the park for drill grounds and tent/hut encampments during both World Wars. The playground was permanently established as a separate facility from Confederate Park in the 1950’s, and today provides open space and recreational facilities for residents of the Springfield and downtown communities.

The Icemen begin their 72 game season at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday, October 14 against the Orlando Solar Bears. St. Nicholas Playground is located adjacent to Spring Park Road in the St. Nicholas/Spring Park section of Jacksonville. Following City land purchases in 1936 and 1937, the park was created and originally named Spring Park, and was expanded by additional land acquisitions in 1944. The St. Nicholas Park and Home Park subdivisions were developed near the park in the late 1930’s to meet the housing needs of Jacksonville’s growing middle class, and the Spring Park Elementary School opened adjacent to the park in 1942. The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

Oakland Park is located in the Oakland section of downtown Jacksonville, and has been City property since the 1880’s. The residential community of Oakland emerged during the 1870’s and was oriented toward working-class families. West of the park lies the Old City Cemetery established in 1852, and along the park’s northern boundary, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, which is a part of the Old City Cemetery. The park has historical significance as the first playground established by the City of Jacksonville for African-American children. The park opened on July 4, 1918, through the efforts of noted Jacksonville humanitarian, Eartha M.M. White (1876-1974), and for ten years was under the direction of pioneer recreational leader Florida C. Dwight (1886-1977).

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are a minor league baseball team based in Jacksonville, Florida. The team is a member of the Southern League and is the class Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball (MLB) team.

This park is named after A. Philip Randolph who grew up in Jacksonville and became one of the most important figures of the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950s and 1960s. A life-size bronze statue of Olympic Gold Medallist and Dallas Cowboy star, Bob Hayes, was added to the park in November 2002. Hayes grew up in Jacksonville, less than a mile from the park. You and your child will explore the world of colors using the five senses! We will get a little messy through touch, taste, and a lot of fun! Our time together will include: circle time, using the senses, learning through stories, and nutritious, yummy snacks! This class is most appropriate for children aged 10 months to about 3.5 years old!

Classes are held at the Dubow Preschool in Mandarin at 3662 Crown Point Rd.

This class combines strength training and power walking. Class ends with a focus on improving core strength and flexibility. This 45 minutes we will focus on Mommy or Daddy, so any child who still sits in a stroller is welcome!

Family Music & Movement classes incorporate songs with movement and various hand held instruments. Classes are mixed-age but geared to 0-2 yrs old.

Early Child Development Infants – VPK, Camps: At The Learning Experience (TLE), we believe that children deserve to grow and learn at their own pace. In our safe and secure state of the art facility, we provide the tools and environment that give children every opportunity to develop their greatest potential. We pride ourselves in having warm, highly qualified teachers, phenomenal curriculum, and the simple extras that make bringing your child to TLE an easy stress-free event. The Learning Experience’s proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum and excellent Enrichment programs were developed over 30 years with your child’s optimal development in mind. We care for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old including VPK, Spring Break camps, and Summer Break camps. We are open year round from 6:30am-6:30pm Monday through Friday. We know that choosing care for your little one is an important decision. Independent, Private preschool for children ages 1 to VPK​

Play, learn and grow at the Padawan Academy, which is a private preschool for children ages 1 to VPK. Padawan Academy students receive priority enrollment for kindergarten at San Jose Primary, a tuition-free charter school that serves grades K-5 on the campus immediately next door. Tuition discounts apply for families with multiple children at the Padawan Academy, or for those families with older children enrolled in the San Jose Schools. Free VPK for 4-year-olds is available for all Florida residents.

Your child will be supported by a team of educators experienced in early childhood development and in the use of activity-based curricula. An abundance of hands-on projects in the classroom and physical activity on the playground will make school time your child’s fun time.

Our staff members communicate your child’s milestones with photos and texts via a school-specific mobile app. We invite you to share in your child’s day via live cameras in our classrooms. Tuition rates include two meals per day, snack, wipes and diapers (as needed).
