Bittersweet Studios is the first co-ed alternative aerial arts fitness studio in Jacksonville that serves clients of all ages and sizes. Dance Studio on Fleming Island in the Shoppes at Eagle Harbor.

We have an upscale and modern atmosphere that is conveniently located in Fleming Island where parents can shop or work out while their child focuses on superior dance instruction. Orientations will take place in either the JHS Education Center or Conference Room (both are located upstairs, above the Adoption Center). Our address is 8464 Beach Blvd. Please arrive on time. The orientation will be around 40 minutes in length.

After attending an orientation, children and an adult chaperone may come to JHS to read to the animals anytime our Adoption Center is open (12pm-7pm on weekdays, 10am-5pm on weekends). Participants must sign in and out at the front desk when visiting JHS to read.

To ensure that our animals benefit from the program, we ask that readers spend at least 30 minutes reading – there is no maximum time limit.

Children may read to either dogs or cats and may bring their reading materials or borrow books from our Pawsitive Reading library.

Participants will receive a free book courtesy of The Jim Moran Foundation while supplies are available.

Children are not born with clear vision, but with visual potential. Visual development takes place during the first several years of life. Just like learning a language, children are also learning to see the world around them. Ophthalmic problems or even routine refractive errors (the need for glasses) can interfere with a child’s visual development.

It is estimated that about 80% of a child’s learning is visually based. Good vision is not only necessary for a child to learn to read and advance academically, but also for appropriate social development, behavior, self-esteem, and coordination.

Since younger children cannot express or verbalize their vision, and older children may not be aware enough to understand they have a visual problem; it is important to have any concerns evaluated. Pediatric eye evaluations and treatment differ greatly from the typical eye problems of adults. Children should be seen by someone with special skills and knowledge in pediatric eye care.

The Ortega Hills Playground is located in the Ortega Hills area across from the Jacksonville Naval Air Station. Ringhaver Park is located in southwest Jacksonville, extending south from 118th Street, along the western border of the Ortega River. It is led by licensed psychologists, a pediatrician, psychiatrists, board-certified behavior analysts, licensed mental health counselors, registered behavior technicians, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, certified teachers, education specialists and tutors, and certified yoga and recreational therapy instructors. They serve Northeast Florida serving Duval County: Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach; and St. Johns County: Marsh Landing, The Plantation, Palm Valley, Vilano Beach, St. Augustine, and Nocatee.

Collage Day School is among the top early learning child development schools for children ages three months through 10 years old in Northeast Florida. Located by Palm Valley in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, we proudly serve students in Duval County: Jacksonville (Jax.), Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach; in St. Johns County: Ponte Vedra Beach, Vilano Beach, St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, Nocatee, and St. Johns. We also provide Enrichment Programs, and a variety of Summer Camps.

New this year (2023) are tractor trailer rides every weekend from noon – 4 pm; Family Fun Days Oct. 14-15 with a bounce house, slide, face painting, games and a craft! Thousands of pumpkins in the field; selfie setups; mini pumpkins and gourds inside along with homemade goods. M-F from 1 pm to dusk; Saturdays from 9 am to dusk; and Sundays from 11 am to dusk.
