At The Mini Bar, our donuts are about a third of the size of a regular donut. This means you get to try more flavors each visit!  Our donuts are made to order, so you’ll always receive a hot donut in the store. Unlike other donut shops, our hot sign is always on. We will have a set menu of  16 flavors. One of our goals with The Mini Bar is to partner with as many local businesses as possible. What’s a donut without really good coffee? We are very excited about partnering with Bold Bean Coffee Roasters for our coffee program. At the Jacksonville Fire Museum, you will see thousands of items detailing the history of the fire service not only in Jacksonville, but the entire state of Florida. Exhibits include photos from the Great Fire of 1901, a fully-restored 1902 American LaFrance horse-drawn fire engine, and a working 1926 American LaFrance fire engine.

If your kids love fire trucks and firemen then this museum is worth a visit. Located in Metropolitan Park this small museum offers visitors lots of information about the history of fire service in Jacksonville and in Florida.

Where Children Become the Greatest Version of Themselves

Growing Together Behavioral Center is one of Jacksonville’s premier schools for children with autism and developmental disabilities. We pride ourselves on being a school where each child is treated as an individual, and educational plans are tailored to their personal needs.

For the 2018-2019 school year, we are excited to partner with 25 students with autism and other developmental disabilities, ages 3 through 15 years. For each child, we will offer a comprehensive educational and therapeutic program, specifically providing students with customized academic plans, while integrating proven, research-based behavioral strategies into every learning task. Our school is unique from the public school settings, as we are able to focus on the specific needs of each individual child, whether academic, life skills, or behavioral. We are also unique in that we offer year-round school and extremely low student to teacher ratio (largest class 6:2), both of which are proven methods to help our children work toward their highest level of learning.

At Growing Together we believe that all students affected by autism and other developmental disabilities can reach their fullest potential through an education based in structure, fun engagement with peers, and loving teachers and staff supporting and encouraging them daily. Each child’s individual strengths and challenges are continually assessed to direct the child’s teachers in selecting the best methodologies to target the child’s current needs. We believe that open communication between teachers, staff, and families is a must, and we have communication plans in place with each family to meet those needs.

St. Nicholas Playground is located adjacent to Spring Park Road in the St. Nicholas/Spring Park section of Jacksonville. Following City land purchases in 1936 and 1937, the park was created and originally named Spring Park, and was expanded by additional land acquisitions in 1944. The St. Nicholas Park and Home Park subdivisions were developed near the park in the late 1930’s to meet the housing needs of Jacksonville’s growing middle class, and the Spring Park Elementary School opened adjacent to the park in 1942. The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

The Jacksonville Icemen, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and AHL’s Manitoba Moose, announced they were awarded an ECHL membership in February 2017, beginning with the 2017-18 season. The Icemen begin their 72 game season at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday, October 14 against the Orlando Solar Bears. St. Nicholas Playground is located adjacent to Spring Park Road in the St. Nicholas/Spring Park section of Jacksonville. Following City land purchases in 1936 and 1937, the park was created and originally named Spring Park, and was expanded by additional land acquisitions in 1944. The St. Nicholas Park and Home Park subdivisions were developed near the park in the late 1930’s to meet the housing needs of Jacksonville’s growing middle class, and the Spring Park Elementary School opened adjacent to the park in 1942. The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

Oakland Park is located in the Oakland section of downtown Jacksonville, and has been City property since the 1880’s. Confederate Playground is located near downtown, in the Springfield section of north Jacksonville. First named Dignan Park, for a chairman of the Board of Public Works, it opened in 1907 and contained the City’s first supervised playground. The United Confederate Veterans chose Jacksonville as the site for their twenty-fourth annual reunion in 1914, which was attended by an estimated 48,000 former Confederate soldiers. Many of the activities took place in the park, and five months later it was renamed, Confederate Park. Troops, many from the nearby Armory, used the playground portion of the park for drill grounds and tent/hut encampments during both World Wars. The playground was permanently established as a separate facility from Confederate Park in the 1950’s, and today provides open space and recreational facilities for residents of the Springfield and downtown communities.

Baymeadows Regional Park has a nice playground, soccer fields, and walking path around the lake.

The 9A/Baymedows Regional Park site is situated between Baymeadows Road East and State Road 9A in southeast Jacksonville. The City purchased the 52-acre parcel from Disston Ranch in June 2002. Volunteer representatives from neighborhoods in the area, known as Baywatch, intent is to keep an eye on the development, growth, transportation, zoning, and parks and recreation issues relating to the area. Baywatch has had a significant role in the planning and funding for the Park in their coordination with Councilmember Graham and the Mayor’s Office. In December 2003, the Master Plan of the Regional Park was completed. Phase I development of the Soccer fields, infrastructure, playground, pavilions, and restrooms are open to the public by January 2008. Future Phase II will include the construction of the Baseball Fields, Fishing Pier, and Tennis Courts.

Our research-based curriculum focuses on whole-child development and helps you understand how your child is developing musically, cognitively, and socially.

We offer classes for newborns, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and big kids (ages 5-7). Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, evening, and on the weekends. Each enrollment includes tuition and Kindermusik @home digital materials to continue the learning at home. These materials include song downloads, musical eBooks, educational videos & games, and parenting tips.

Our Classes are currently virtual, anyone can join from anywhere, look for live outdoor classes, in Jacksonville, Florida in the near future 🙂

The St. Johns Cathedral School is sponsored by the Cathedral and Diocese and includes infants to Pre-K 4 in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville.
