I also work full time for a healthcare organization and teach sprint part-time at the local YMCA. I am a busy bee! I launched Attia Designs on June 6, 2020. So, why earrings? I am completely obsessed with earrings and came across polymer clay earrings while browsing the internet one day. Quarantine from the pandemic gave me a lot of much needed time to explore my passions. I didn’t put much thought into planning, I dove straight into it and a month later here we are. Our program is a South Korean based Taekwondo system used by the South Korean Military and the South Korean Presidential Body Guards. Taekwondo is known for devastating kicks but make no mistake it has many weapons in its arsenal. The hand techniques are practiced and conditioned by breaking objects such as boards, roof tiles and cement blocks. All the techniques from kicks, strikes, down to blocks were developed to maximize damage with every blow. We also practice Taegeuk “Poomse” meaning forms or patterns. These are pre-arranged fight sequences that are practiced to develop hand-eye coordination, timing, balance, power, speed, discipline and overall body structure.

This class combines strength training and power walking. Class ends with a focus on improving core strength and flexibility. This 45 minutes we will focus on Mommy or Daddy, so any child who still sits in a stroller is welcome!
Please bring a towel, water, and a resistance band.
Classes are held Mondays only. More days will be added if there is demand.

Family Music & Movement classes incorporate songs with movement and various hand held instruments. Classes are mixed-age but geared to 0-2 yrs old.

In order to join the Pawsitive Reading program, children AND at least one parent/guardian must first attend a one-time Pawsitive Reading orientation. We offer several orientations each month. Upcoming orientation dates and sign-up links are below. Advance registration is required.

Please note: We are unable to offer Pawsitive Reading orientations in June and July due to JHS Summer Camp.

Orientations will take place in either the JHS Education Center or Conference Room (both are located upstairs, above the Adoption Center). Our address is 8464 Beach Blvd. Please arrive on time. The orientation will be around 40 minutes in length.

After attending an orientation, children and an adult chaperone may come to JHS to read to the animals anytime our Adoption Center is open (12pm-7pm on weekdays, 10am-5pm on weekends). Participants must sign in and out at the front desk when visiting JHS to read.

To ensure that our animals benefit from the program, we ask that readers spend at least 30 minutes reading – there is no maximum time limit.

Children may read to either dogs or cats and may bring their reading materials or borrow books from our Pawsitive Reading library.

Participants will receive a free book courtesy of The Jim Moran Foundation while supplies are available.

The staff at J. Allen Axson Montessori Elementary is committed to providing a safe, caring environment with diversified instruction that promotes success for all students.
