Fenwick Home Services, Inc. was established in 1969 by Bill Fenwick Sr. and has continued to be an engaging business. It began at home with Bill Sr. and his wife, Beverly, answering the company telephone while raising their three sons.In 1970, Bill and his sons decided it was time to move their small business from their home to a plumbing shop with a warehouse. St. Nicholas Playground is located adjacent to Spring Park Road in the St. Nicholas/Spring Park section of Jacksonville. Following City land purchases in 1936 and 1937, the park was created and originally named Spring Park, and was expanded by additional land acquisitions in 1944. The St. Nicholas Park and Home Park subdivisions were developed near the park in the late 1930’s to meet the housing needs of Jacksonville’s growing middle class, and the Spring Park Elementary School opened adjacent to the park in 1942. The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

Exhibits include photos from the Great Fire of 1901, a fully-restored 1902 American LaFrance horse-drawn fire engine, and a working 1926 American LaFrance fire engine.

We welcome ALL women, ALL ages, and ALL fitness levels. We offer programming for walkers to beginning runners to experienced runners. Walkers will be encouraged to follow an interval training schedule designed to maximize their fitness levels. Our “learn to run” program begins with mostly walking and gradually transitions to more jogging. Experienced runners will be challenged to improve their times and endurance. Each class includes strength, stretching, and cardio training.

2-6 to the world of sports in a

Founder, Martin Freeman, is a former law enforcement officer and is a father of 5. She couldn’t find adequate childcare for her hours of work and also suffered from postpartum depression to the point that she attempted suicide. After Martin and his team rescued her, he was determined never to let this happen to another person. Martin’s endeavor to help ensure that no other parent face this type of situation was developed. His passion to provide a quality 7 days a week childcare, which would provide childcare during traditional and or non-traditional work hours for first Responders and all working parents was created.

Davis Park has a small playground area nestled in a large sport complex consisting of 5 soccer fields, 3 football fields, 4 lighted softball fields, and 6 lighted Baseball field, two multipurpose baseball fields, one tee ball field. Also features 4 stocked fishing ponds for children under the age of 12 (catch and release only) and two fenced in dog parks.

Greenland Park was dedicated April 20, 1990. Funding for the project was allocated from the 1988 Neighborhood Park Improvement Bond Program for Council District 4. In 1991, a monumnet was dedicated in the park to Brandon O`Leary, a 13 year old MAA member who was killed earlier in the year. On January 25, 1995, the City of Jacksonville purchased an additional 16.5 acres from RM Williams to expand the Greenland Road Park site to its current 20.3 acres. In February 2003, the park received a new playscape, swing set and benches. In August of 2007 new renovations were completed to the Concession and Restroom Facility Building.

Angelina Danese Park is located in south Jacksonville, at the intersection of Danese Court and St. Augustine Road. The site comprised part of the Philips community that was established in the last half of the 1800’s. Alexander and Angelina Danese, who arrived in America as immigrants from Italy in 1885, had twelve children following their marriage in 1898. The couple established their home on the park property in 1929, and after their deaths the children wanted to honor their parents’ memory. Their son Emanuel Danese, and his wife Mary Margaret, later donated the property to the city in 1973 for use as a passive public park – in honor of his parents and with the stipulation that it be named for his mother. But the site remained a vacant tract until the city, with the aid of City Councilmen Matt Carlucci and Reggie Fullwood, developed the property as a neighborhood park, which opened in March 2003.

I specialize in baby + child portraiture because some of the most precious photographs I have are those of my mother when she was a child. She died in 2015, and all that are left are the photos. I know that when I have children, and they have children, I’ll still have those photographs of her to show them.

Crabtree Park is located in the Lakewood area, three blocks east of the intersection of San Jose Blvd. and University Blvd. West. Walter Crabtree developed the entire Lakewood area between 1946 and 1961, some of it around picturesque New Ross Creek that meanders through the northwest section. He conveyed the land for the park to Duval County in several deeds between 1957 and 1963. For over fifty years, Walter R. Crabtree (1899-1993) was a real estate developer and builder in Duval County. He operated his own lumber company, and built the Lakewood Apartments across from the park. Through the years, sports have been the main activity at Crabtree Park: organized youth baseball/softball games and pickup basketball games.

We serve low-income children from the residents of our Davis Center from six weeks to 5 years of age in our four-star, state-of-the-art program. Hello, my name is Dabbs McInnis, CEO of Dare 2 Hire Different a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is devoted to making a difference in the community. We provide programs that benefit people with different abilities in our community and surrounding areas. Our newest program is designed to give people with special needs a place to show their many talents. Each individual will have the opportunity to be creative and show the community their love for music, singing, dancing, acting, or fashion, just to name a few creative arts.

We want to help them bring out certain potentials within themselves. We are raising funds to set up a creator’s studio and Music venue where they can come learn and practice. We also want a space for music therapy as it: reduces anxiety and physical effects of stress, improves healing, can reduce depression and other symptoms in the elderly, helps to reduce symptoms of psychological disorders including schizophrenia, can help improves self-expression and communication

Confederate Playground is located near downtown, in the Springfield section of north Jacksonville. First named Dignan Park, for a chairman of the Board of Public Works, it opened in 1907 and contained the City’s first supervised playground. The United Confederate Veterans chose Jacksonville as the site for their twenty-fourth annual reunion in 1914, which was attended by an estimated 48,000 former Confederate soldiers. Many of the activities took place in the park, and five months later it was renamed, Confederate Park. Troops, many from the nearby Armory, used the playground portion of the park for drill grounds and tent/hut encampments during both World Wars. The playground was permanently established as a separate facility from Confederate Park in the 1950’s, and today provides open space and recreational facilities for residents of the Springfield and downtown communities.

Theatre Jacksonville’s newest outreach educational program is Theatre for Babies! The 90-minute event includes the show, Everything Is A Circle, Theatre Jacksonville’s original play.

Infants 3 to 12 months with parents or caregivers will be asked to remove their shoes and sit on the floor. Babies make noise, we know that. Their engagement is welcome in all ways. As parents and caregivers, you will want to take care of your babies, we know that too. Snuggling, feeding and changing are all part of taking care of them and totally allowed throughout the event.
