Ultimate Beaches Guide: We find ourselves at Jacksonville Beach events all season long. It is a vibrant, bustling beach. There are so many fun festivals, concerts, and movie nights at the amphitheater. If you are heading out to enjoy the sand and waves on Jacksonville Beach, you will find ample parking across the beach; but be careful that you do not park in a restricted area. If you think your little one might need to get off the beach and stroll away from the sand for a time, this a terrific beach for you. There is a park on 9th Avenue North, Tall Pines Park, that can provide a nice change of pace. There are also easy-to-access public restrooms on 3rd Avenue North, 2nd Avenue North, and 5th Avenue North. It may sound crazy but my favorite eatery to frequent on my Jacksonville Beach days is a grocery store, Native Sun. This place makes delicious juices and has lots of yummy ready eat foods that are perfect to take with you. Northeast Florida Girls Softball and Tsunami travel teams based out of Wingate Park in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Jacksonville FC has been established since 1977 and consists of 3 main programs – recreational, academy and travel (KYX) teams for players aged U5-U19. The recreational program spans all age groups and is for player development and enjoyment of the game. The academy program offers both developmental academy (U6-U12) and travel academy (U9-U12). The goal is to provide age-appropriate technical and tactical training in a positive learning environment. The Advanced program (U13-U18) places players in a competitive training and playing environment that challenges them to reach the highest levels of play. JFC travel programs have 35 teams who participate in regional, state and premiere leagues.

The Florida Surfing Association was created in 2003 as an organized body for surfing within the United States and specifically the State of Florida. Our mission is to further the sport of surfing to our members, their families and throughout the State of Florida.

General surf lessons will teach the basics of surfing from beginner to advanced. We will have one instructor per student. We also recommend a flexible “floating” schedule to maximize your investment as the surf conditions often have a direct impact on the success of the lesson. Usually we can predict the surf and coordinate with the right tide and sand bar about 1-3 days in advance.

JCC offers an exciting and unique music experience for children who have a passion for singing. The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus is beginning its new season on September 15th, 2020. Please encourage your aspiring singers to audition with us for the upcoming season if they are interested in enhancing their music education and opportunities.

While prior musical training is not necessary to participate, an audition is required for singers in grades 2-12. To ensure that we are keeping your health and safety our top priority, auditions can be scheduled virtually or in-person with social distancing and a mask required. There is no fee to audition. Need-based scholarships are available.

Auditions are quick and simple. There is no need to have a prepared audition piece.

Program Offered:

Lone Star is a tuition-free public high school that operates two sessions per day – morning and afternoon. Students have the opportunity to enroll in the four-hour session that best fits their personal schedule so they have the flexibility to earn a quality education while working, caring for family, or managing other commitments.

Once enrolled, the school works with the student to create a personalized academic plan to graduate, and immediately helps the student to start earning credits as his/her own pace. Courses are computer-based to help the student to focus and track progress, and certified teachers provide individualized support.

The school serves ages 16 to 21. Graduation ceremonies are held in June.
