The playground became a popular site for games of the City’s baseball leagues. In recent years the Spring Park Neighborhood Association and St. Nicholas Area Preservation have taken an active role in the maintenance and welfare of the facility, which contains a walking/jogging trail completed in 1999.

The Isle of Faith Pumpkin Patch is one of the most popular patches in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Pumpkin Patch is hosted and managed by Isle of Faith United Methodist Church. It is entirely volunteer run! Every person you come across working in the patch is volunteering their time in support of the good that comes from it.

Crabtree Park is located in the Lakewood area, three blocks east of the intersection of San Jose Blvd. and University Blvd. West. Walter Crabtree developed the entire Lakewood area between 1946 and 1961, some of it around picturesque New Ross Creek that meanders through the northwest section. Our Mission: We help at-risk students earn a standard high school diploma and prepare for post-secondary success.

We offer an instructional calendar beyond the traditional 180 days to give students more opportunity to continue working toward meeting graduation goals. Attendance throughout the school’s instructional calendar is mandatory and necessary for success. Please see the published school calendar.
Program Offered:

Lone Star is a tuition-free public high school that operates two sessions per day – morning and afternoon. Students have the opportunity to enroll in the four-hour session that best fits their personal schedule so they have the flexibility to earn a quality education while working, caring for family, or managing other commitments.

Once enrolled, the school works with the student to create a personalized academic plan to graduate, and immediately helps the student to start earning credits as his/her own pace. Courses are computer-based to help the student to focus and track progress, and certified teachers provide individualized support.

The school serves ages 16 to 21. Graduation ceremonies are held in June.

There is no cost to attend. All programs are free.

The mission of The Jericho School (non profit 501(c) 3 corporation) is to provide comprehensive, individualized science-based education not otherwise available in our community. We believe those children with autism and other developmental delays deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. The school’s curriculum provides effective treatment and education programs to children and their families based on Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior.

The Community Outreach Program allows The Jericho School to provide parents and other community members access to training and education training free of charge. The program increases parents’ and service providers’ knowledge, skills and abilities for working with children with autism; teaching specific skills, reducing inappropriate behaviors and developing language skills.

The Program includes a free 2-Day Workshop to provide parents and caregivers training in the best practices in working with children with autism. Education is provided on the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and how to use Verbal Behavior in Teaching Language to Children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.

A free consultation and assessment is also provided for the parents participating in the Community Outreach Program to provide more individualized guidance and assistance in selecting appropriate goals for their child’s educational program.

We begin with a foundation of gymnastics to build strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance. Your child will learn various skills through movement such as balance and concentration when working on the beam. They will test their strength when learning basic gymnastics skills such as forward rolls and cartwheels. This sets the groundwork for moving into more advanced tumbling and gymnastics skills when they are older but not only that, these skills when started young tend to promote healthy growth and development that will follow them well into adulthood.

At Tumblrz, learning opportunities are pushed to the next level when we incorporate colors, shapes, and numbers along with using hand, eye, and foot coordination. By combining the physical and mental aspect we are able to promote the development of the child’s neurological pathways, positively effecting mood, memory, attention span, and behavior.

A support group designed just for the mom on the go! If you want a variety of activities for you and your children then this is the MOMS Club for you! They offer many educational and fun play dates each week, as well as playgroups based on your child’s age and special activities for children and MOMS. Join the fun!

The Florida Surfing Association was created in 2003 as an organized body for surfing within the United States and specifically the State of Florida. Our mission is to further the sport of surfing to our members, their families and throughout the State of Florida.

General surf lessons will teach the basics of surfing from beginner to advanced. We will have one instructor per student. We also recommend a flexible “floating” schedule to maximize your investment as the surf conditions often have a direct impact on the success of the lesson. Usually we can predict the surf and coordinate with the right tide and sand bar about 1-3 days in advance.
