Jax Beach Surf Shop offers both private and group surf lessons along with stand up paddle boarding lessons. For adults and children ages 7 and up (parents must stay with children under 13 years of age). Lessons last 1 hour, 15 minutes and include the use of a soft surf board during the lesson and for the rest of the day, tutorial on how to surf, surfing safety, marine life awareness, rip current awareness, and surfing.

The Jordan Park Community Center is a 2000 square foot of space – housing both Beaches Habitat and the community center. Hours normal hours of operation are noon to 6 pm.  The Community Center is available for rent with a 4-hour minimum of $100, plus a $200 refundable security deposit.  

Inspired by our travels to Asia and memories of growing up, we all craved the unapologetic flavors of true Asian food—dumplings with bounce, spicy curries, crisp pork belly, and the list goes on. When in Asia, we knew the best dishes were on the streets from hawker stalls. At home, we turned to parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to get a fix from generations-old comfort food recipes. We sought out restaurants in hopes of finding a gem, only to be disappointed 9 times out of 10.

Finally, it hit us—we had to redefine “eating Asian” in the states. From day one, the food was at the core of Hawkers Asian Street Fare—generations of Asian street food recipes have been passed down, some of which are still served on the streets of Asia. But there had to be more. We wanted to build a restaurant that would tell the story of the hawker experience in a subtle and design-conscious way. We wanted great drinks to pair with great food. Most importantly, we wanted to create a place that was high-energy, but approachable in a t-shirt or a sports coat.

Bull Park is located just a few blocks from the ocean and offers a picnic zone or alternate play area (shaded playground!) if you or your little one needs a break from the sand and surf. There is not a lot of parking located near the beach, so your best bet is to find parking at either Jack Russell Park, Bull Park, or the Beaches Town Center area and walk to the ocean. Private Full Time Islamic School. Al-Furqan Academy was established in August of 1997 by some of the same founding members of ICNEF (Islamic Center of Northeast Florida). They saw the immense need for an Islamic Elementary School in the city of Jacksonville, and they acted upon it. First, written plans were formulated, classrooms were established within the Masjid, staff was recruited and numerous other plans and procedures developed. The result is that today, we are a school of approximately 60 students ranging in ages from 3 years up to the fifth grade. The HEAL Foundation is a local non-profit organization in Northeast Florida. HEAL serves individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Foundation serves as an outreach organization providing, educational programs and camps tailored to the needs of our Autism Community.

Over the past five years, HEAL is proud to have awarded over one million dollars to provide:

Autism Spectrum Disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behaviors. The CDC reports that 1 in 50 individuals are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The recent sharp rise in numbers of Autism has been described as an epidemic among children. Many with Autism also suffer from a constellation of illnesses, intestinal disorders and autoimmune diseases. The cause of Autism is a heavily debated subject; scientific researchers are looking into genetics and environmental causes.
