We welcome ALL women, ALL ages, and ALL fitness levels. We offer programming for walkers to beginning runners to experienced runners. Walkers will be encouraged to follow an interval training schedule designed to maximize their fitness levels. The Jacksonville Galloway Training Program meets on Saturday mornings at various locations across the Jacksonville area, and follows Jeff Galloway’s training guidelines to get you safely across the finish line of a half or full marathon if your goals are to finish, or to achieve a ‘PR’. Our group runs feature walking breaks at regular intervals based on your skill level. Pace groups (of usually 8-15) are set up according to current fitness level, and a Group Leader is assigned to keep the speed slow enough for all members, and to enforce walk breaks from the beginning to the end.
Running is more fun when running together, as each member is motivated to run more often, and stay injury free. As you share stories, (gossip, issues) and pull one another along, the miles go by much more quickly. Lifelong friendships are formed in these mission-oriented, but laid back groups. I have worked in Duval County Schools for 2 years and before that, I worked for 3 years doing outpatient pediatric rehab at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. I have familiarity with speech (articulation), fluency (stuttering), apraxia, language disorders, dyslexia, phonological disorders, reading, AAC (augmentative or alternative communication) devices, social skills, independent living behavior and language, cleft palate, Autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, low cognition, Down Syndrome, and some feeding and behavioral experience. I strive to learn from and creatively tailor my treatments to each child and family (every kid is different!).

This is often the first beach we visit, primarily because of proximity to the Beaches Town Center. I told you I loved this place. The local, coastal vibe just makes me happy. When you are ready to put your toes in the sand, it is fairly easy to find public access parking. We seldom, if ever, pack a lunch when we go to Neptune Beach because you are just a short stroll to some pretty tasty restaurants. Our favorite stops on Neptune Beach days are MShack when we are in the mood for simple burger and fries, Poe’s Tavern, and, of course, Dreamette. Yes, I said Dreamette. There is a new location just behind the Starbucks. From Neptune Beach, you can get to Jarboe or Bull Park quickly by car or bike.

Inspired by our travels to Asia and memories of growing up, we all craved the unapologetic flavors of true Asian food—dumplings with bounce, spicy curries, crisp pork belly, and the list goes on. When in Asia, we knew the best dishes were on the streets from hawker stalls. At home, we turned to parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to get a fix from generations-old comfort food recipes. We sought out restaurants in hopes of finding a gem, only to be disappointed 9 times out of 10.

Finally, it hit us—we had to redefine “eating Asian” in the states. From day one, the food was at the core of Hawkers Asian Street Fare—generations of Asian street food recipes have been passed down, some of which are still served on the streets of Asia. But there had to be more. We wanted to build a restaurant that would tell the story of the hawker experience in a subtle and design-conscious way. We wanted great drinks to pair with great food. Most importantly, we wanted to create a place that was high-energy, but approachable in a t-shirt or a sports coat.

Atlantic Beach is a terrific beach to explore with families. Bull Park is located just a few blocks from the ocean and offers a picnic zone or alternate play area (shaded playground!) if you or your little one needs a break from the sand and surf. There is not a lot of parking located near the beach, so your best bet is to find parking at either Jack Russell Park, Bull Park, or the Beaches Town Center area and walk to the ocean. From most of the Atlantic Beach public access points, you are a short to medium size walk to the Beaches Town Center, where you can find lovely local dining options and shopping alike!

JaxKick Stars offer structured soccer classes for boys and girls ranging from 2 to 9 years old. Classes meet once a week for 30 minutes for 8 weeks session. Our fees are prorated weekly so new kids can join our program anytime during a session. Our younger classes learn the basic skills of soccer and play fun active games both with and without the soccer ball. Our goal is to introduce soccer in a fun environment that keeps kids coming back for more! Through fun games, songs and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. All age groups will include: fitness activities, coordination, balance and agility.

Oceanside Rotary Skate Park is located at 800 Seminole Road in Jack Russell Park. Anyone under 17 years of age is required to have a Waiver Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian and notarized before a sticker decal is issued for admission to the skate park.

Skate park hours are 8 am to 10 pm. During inclement weather, rain or the bowl is wet, the skate park will be closed.

Orangetheory Fitness is a one-of-a-kind, group personal training workout broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. Backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), Orangetheory Fitness’ heart-rate-monitored training is designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy.
